Meet Donnald Williams

We were lucky to catch up with Donnald Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Donnald , so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.
I’ve developed my decision-making skills through a deep commitment to doing what’s best not just for myself, but for everyone involved. I believe in leading with empathy and integrity, always striving to make choices that reflect care, fairness, and long-term impact. I also live by a personal philosophy of having no regrets — which means every decision I make is intentional, thoughtful, and grounded in love. That mindset has helped me approach challenges with clarity and confidence, knowing that I gave each choice the consideration it deserved.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Donnald Williams, and I’m the owner of Flare Phone Cases. I’ve been running my business for three years now, and starting it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I dropped out of college in 2019 after suffering a knee injury that not only ended my athletic path but also caused my grades to slip. That moment felt like my life had hit a wall—but God showed me something different.

Every day since has been a battle between growth and failure. My mental health took a hit because I couldn’t understand: “Why me? Why didn’t things work out?” Coming from where I’m from, sports felt like the only way to succeed. So when that ended, I felt lost.

After spending some time in jail, I knew I had to find a new path. That’s when I started Flare Phone Cases. It became more than a business—it became a way to express myself and connect with others. I love diving into people’s stories and experiences because there’s always something to learn.

I turned my pain into grind, and my grind into shine.
My phone cases aren’t just accessories—they carry meaning. They prove that even something simple can hold value, purpose, and power when built from passion.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My Resilience is Unmatched, I bounced back from injury , dropping out, jail time and mental health struggles and turned that into fuel Leadership, I See Deeper than most, I can turn basic products into something people can believe in.
My empathy and connection Im not focused on profit but purpose and helping and inspiring others.
Think deeper than your current pain. I know it hurts now, but one day it’ll just be a scar—and if it’s going to stay with you, make it mean something. Don’t waste the wound. Let it build you, not break you.
