Donyé, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

My optimism and just about all my perspectives regarding life are all rooted in my Belief in God . As I started to develop my relationship with God , and started to understand the Bible and the purpose of Jesus walking this earth. I was able to develop and grow the optimism that I now have about life. Prior to cultivating my relationship and reading the Bible for myself I was not completely hopeless. However, I was not as optimistic about life as I have grown to be over the years. I was more so concerned about the time I had to get things done and really worried about timelines and falling behind the timelines that I had decided to subscribe to. However through my relationship and understanding of God’s intentions for His children. I now understand that though I may not get things right every time I do not have to worry about what my future holds as long as I rely on God to keep me and sustain me in my everyday life. Without God I would definitely be lost and would not be doing the things I am doing today. Instead I would be hopeless feeling like a failure simply because of all the things I have been through and the things I have not been successful in when I first tried doing them.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I created Worthy Soul to provide insights into the daily challenges we face in our pursuit of personal growth and development, as well as strategies for overcoming obstacles. Some of the insights shared are rooted in my experience working in the behavioral and mental health field, while others are based on my own personal growth journey. Through Worthy Soul, I aim to be vulnerable and transparent with my audience, reassuring them that, despite imperfections, they deserve a fulfilling life. To achieve this, we must be willing to put in the effort and do the hard work. My long-form content can be found on YouTube, while short-form content, including video clips and original quotes, is available on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and YouTube using the keyword “Worthy Soul.”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three key qualities have significantly impacted my journey: compassion, patience, and problem-solving. Compassion, cultivated through understanding and empathizing with others, has strengthened relationships and led to positive outcomes. Patience, fostered through mindfulness and realistic expectations, has enabled calm and thoughtful responses in challenging situations. Effective problem-solving, enhanced by critical thinking and breaking down complex issues, has equipped me to navigate obstacles and find creative solutions. Ultimately, developing these qualities often involves personal growth and self-awareness. By seeking opportunities to practice compassion, patience, and problem-solving, individuals can continually improve these skills and achieve their goals.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

The biggest obstacle I’m currently facing is balancing my priorities. As I near the end of my master’s program and prepare for my practicum and internship, my primary focus must be on completing my education. Simultaneously, I’m building Worthy Soul, which requires significant time and effort. To manage my workload, I’ve had to adjust my expectations for Worthy Soul. While I’m passionate about the brand, I know that finishing my master’s program is my top priority. By focusing on my studies, I’m setting myself up for a successful future, which will ultimately benefit Worthy Soul.I constantly remind myself that building a successful brand takes time and patience. While I may have to slow down my progress on Worthy Soul for now, it will allow me to dedicate the necessary energy to my studies. By focusing on my current priorities and making strategic decisions, I’m confident that I can achieve both my academic and entrepreneurial goals.
