Meet Doug Thee Savage

We recently connected with Doug Thee Savage and have shared our conversation below.

Doug, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
It’s been a journey trying to develop my confidence and boost myself up. I wouldn’t say it’s fully there but learning affirmations and motivating myself internally has been somewhat helping me in many ways.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m an upcoming Rap Artist/Producer coming out of PG County, Maryland. I’ve always had a love for music since I was a kid. Of course it’s a love/hate relationship as you get older and understand more in depth of your talents & aspirations, but that comes with it along the way. What I love about it the most is how it taught me to really dig deep within my creativity without caring about the next persons critique. Allowing myself to be creatively me & free.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Focus, Patience & Restraint.

Keep your eye on your goal no matter the circumstance. You made that your vision for a reason..

Rather it’s materialistic or self accomplishment, I feel that there is an award in the long run when you are patient.

Just because you feel that it is the right moment, doesn’t necessarily mean it is. Things take time. Yet, remain humble and know that what’s meant for you is for you.

Most importantly (and this may sound a bit cliche), remain true to yourself. It goes a long way when you’re confident in knowing who you are and what you can bring to the table in any aspect.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
I honestly think marketing is a big challenge for me. Of course you know what it is that you like for yourself, but what is it that other people can find common with you through your creativity and/or aspect of every day life?
