We were lucky to catch up with Dr. Bobby Koser recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Bobby, so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.
Most of my decision-making skills were built from the ground up during chiropractic school. That’s where I learned the foundation of critical thinking; how to connect patterns, rule things out, and think through every possibility before arriving at an answer. It taught me to look beyond symptoms and focus on identifying the true underlying cause of a problem. It’s a lot like detective work, but with the human body.
Over time, experience becomes your best teacher. I’ve seen thousands of patients over the years with everything from routine back pain to complex spine conditions. In many cases, I’m the first person they come to with questions about their MRI results or what their next step should be. That level of trust sharpens your judgment fast. When you’ve spent years working with patients, reviewing MRIs, and helping people make sense of what’s really going on with their spine, you develop a kind of intuition that blends science with real-world perspective.
Being both a clinician and a business owner adds another layer to that. Every day involves balancing patient care with leadership decisions — operations, marketing, and growth — while keeping patient outcomes at the center. It’s taught me to make decisions quickly but thoughtfully, always weighing the long-term impact on both the people I treat and the practice I’m building.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a chiropractic physician in Tampa and the owner of HealthSpine Chiropractic, where we provide one-on-one, concierge-style chiropractic care for patients across Carrollwood and the greater Tampa Bay area. My focus has always been on quality over quantity — giving every patient the time, attention, and personalized treatment they deserve. I’ve always believed healthcare should feel human, not rushed or transactional, and that’s the foundation of everything we do.
What excites me most is how much the profession has evolved. We’ve reached a point where modern technology and chiropractic care can truly work hand in hand. At HealthSpine, I’ve integrated innovations like AI-assisted strength training, virtual reality rehab, and cold laser therapy alongside traditional hands-on chiropractic spine and joint care. It’s allowed us to personalize recovery in ways that simply weren’t possible in the years past.
I’m also certified in both acupuncture and dry needling, which add another layer of precision to our care. We perform both treatments in-office, and they’ve become an important part of our integrative approach — especially for patients dealing with chronic back pain, neck pain, muscle tension, or post-injury recovery. Acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate specific points that influence the body’s natural healing process and restore balance to the nervous system. Dry needling, while similar in appearance, targets tight or overactive muscular trigger points to release tension and improve mobility. When combined with chiropractic adjustments and advanced therapies, these techniques help reduce inflammation, improve movement, and support long-term results.
I especially enjoy helping patients recover after injuries. Whether it’s a car accident, a sports injury, or even something as simple as lifting a heavy box or doing yardwork. It’s incredibly rewarding to see where they start at point A, often in pain or limited in movement, and where we can help guide them to point B; a stronger, more comfortable, and pain-reduced state.
We were honored to be recognized as a Finalist for “Best Chiropractor in Tampa” by Creative Loafing in 2025. For us, that recognition represents more than just an award — it’s a reflection of the trust our patients place in us and the relationships we’ve built within the Tampa Bay community.
Beyond that, I run Lifeline Spine, a virtual spine second-opinion service for patients throughout Florida. It’s a niche I developed after working alongside surgeons at Laser Spine Institute, where I saw how often patients just needed clear, unbiased guidance before making major healthcare decisions. At Lifeline Spine, I virtually review their spinal MRIs, go over their health history, and help them understand their spine conditions better, along with potential conservative care options or next steps to discuss with their doctors.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding both brands. Whether it’s through clinical practice or mentorship, my goal remains the same — to bring clarity, compassion, and innovation to spine care in Tampa and beyond.
I’m excited to see where technology and personalized care take the chiropractic profession next.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are curiosity, adaptability, and consistency.
Curiosity is what started everything. Early on, I didn’t plan to become a chiropractor. I was actually studying microbiology and anthropology until I sustained an injury and experienced chiropractic care firsthand. That opened my eyes to an entirely different side of healthcare. That same curiosity still drives me today, whether it’s learning a new technique, understanding the “why” behind a certain condition, or integrating new technology into the clinic. My advice for others is to never lose that sense of curiosity. The more you learn, the better you serve.
Adaptability became essential throughout my career. I developed it early on when I left a high-volume clinic to open my first practice, and it was tested again when Laser Spine Institute unexpectedly closed in 2019. I was part of the national company-wide layoff, which meant regrouping and rebuilding my professional path. That experience taught me to view change as opportunity. It pushed me to eventually return to private practice and build what would become HealthSpine Chiropractic. There will always be unexpected turns, and your ability to adapt both mentally and strategically determines how far you’ll go.
Lastly, consistency is what ties it all together. You can’t build trust overnight. Whether you’re adjusting a patient’s spine, managing operations, or building a business, consistency in your values, quality of care, and communication is what earns people’s confidence over time. For anyone just starting out, remember that progress compounds — it’s not about doing everything perfectly today, it’s about showing up every day and getting a little better each time.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal patient is someone who values a more personal, hands-on approach to their care and is ready to take an active role in improving their health. Whether they’re recovering from a car accident, a sports injury, or simply dealing with chronic neck or back pain, the best outcomes always come from patients who are engaged in the process. Many of my ideal patients also value the concierge approach to healthcare. They appreciate having longer one-on-one time with their doctor, access to advanced therapies, and care that’s focused on meaningful, lasting results rather than quick visits. And for those who are curious about concierge chiropractic care about it but haven’t yet made the leap, you’re more than welcome to join our practice.
I love working with people who are curious — the ones who ask questions, want to understand what’s happening in their body, and are open to learning how lifestyle habits, movement, and posture all play a role in how they feel. The word doctor actually comes from the Latin term meaning teacher, and I take that to heart. Educating patients is one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do, because when people truly understand their condition, they become more confident and active participants in their own recovery.
At HealthSpine Chiropractic, I view care as a partnership. My goal isn’t just to get someone out of pain temporarily, but to help them move better, build strength, and feel confident in their recovery. Those who are proactive, consistent, and invested in that journey tend to see the best results.
And through Lifeline Spine, our virtual second-opinion service, I find that ideal clients are those who want clarity and transparency — patients who are seeking honest, unbiased guidance about their spine condition before committing to invasive procedures. At the end of the day, my ideal patient is anyone who values personalized care, supports the concierge model, or simply wants to take a more informed and collaborative approach to their health.
