Meet Dr. Eric Holmes

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dr. Eric Holmes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dr. Eric below.

Dr. Eric, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose through prayer and having those around me that could pour in my life. Knowing what I was passionate about and continuing to pursue it. Then I defined purpose then understood purpose so now I am walking in my purpose so I can fulfill it.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a healthcare worker for over 27 years at Johns Hopkins where I help patients to navigate through the system. Working in many departments over the years has caused me to know the system and be able to help patients and families. And in and outside of work being a life coach, mental health and behavioral health coach I assist clients in helping them navigate through life situations and given them knowledge and wisdom but sharing resources. And last I am a radio host on Praise 104.4 Gospel. The Power of Influence with Dr. E. I am a student of Global Speakers University (GSU)where I will graduate the end of October. Dr. Cheryl Wood is the amazing founder and Visionary of the school.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

For me I am committed to doing what I love and dedicated to loyalty as well as integrity. Do what you love to do and it will be easy to do. Have a passion for what you do. Be the best you that you can be.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My late mother Ernestine was most helpful and even my oldest sister Paula. Also my former Pastor the Late Apostle Robert Evans. And my current pastor Bishop Richard Pender. So many others that played a major role.
