Meet Dr. Francis Olaoluwa Ogunleye

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Francis Olaoluwa Ogunleye a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. FRANCIS OLAOLUWA, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I was born and raised in Nigeria. As an immigrant to the United States, where i came from has thought me the value of hard work, dedication, resilience, Grace, self reliant, and humility.
All of these have contributed to my journey so far.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

With over 3 years of experience as a Physician Associate and more than 7 years experience as a Foreign Medical Physician, I am passionate about providing quality healthcare services to underserved populations. In my current role, I serve as the Primary Medical Provider.
My education at All Saints University School of Medicine, Dominica & Charles R Drew University School of Medicine,. CA, U.S.A combined with hands-on clinical experience in diverse medical and primary care settings has fueled my dedication to providing high quality, compassionate care to those who need it most.
I am particularly interested in addressing healthcare disparities, promoting preventive care, and working with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
I am part of a mission driven organization that delivers patient-centered quality care to underserved individuals around Los Angeles Counties.
Eager to continue my journey in healthcare by making a meaningful impact on community health centers and primary care practices.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

– Faith in God is number one for me: Without the Lord Jesus Christ i would not even be speaking to you right now
– Resilience
– Dedication & Discipline

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

Sacrifice, Sacrifice and again Sacrifice
Our parents left their comfort zone for us their children, making sure we migrated to a country (U.S.A) of opportunities, an home for immigrants where you dreams can come through but not without paying the price
Again, it’s not easy, especially as an immigrant transitioning over to the U.S.A, you have to pay your dues, and as you know, we Africans (especially Nigerians believe so much in education).
– I said to myself, you know what, there is no room for complacency, even though there were some challenges here and there, but through resilience, hard work, dedication, learning from my setbacks, combined with humility, am where am at today

Where do you get your work ethic from?

We’ve all heard the phrase “work hard, play hard,” but where does our work ethic
