Meet Dr. Joi Brown

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dr. Joi Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dr. Joi below.

Hi Dr. Joi, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

As a child, I grew up believing in the “I Can” mantra. I could achieve anything that I set my mind to and dreams can come true. I was told by my grandma and later confirmed by others that I am a Joi to this world.
I was told I am, ambitious, beautiful, bold, caring, confident, daring, determined, fearless, intelligent, powerful, and strong.
I learned as a young girl, I had gifts and talents to inspire, encourage, and motivate others. I bring Joi to places and spaces and touch lives. I make people and organizations better because of who I am.
Launching 3EEE Consulting is where I educate, equip, and empower people and organizations through coaching, conversations, and workshops in career and entrepreneur development, conflict resolution, goal setting, health and wellness, leadership and team development, and personal and professional branding.
I stand as a witness, that each day I live a day of purpose using my gifts and talents in everything that I do. I live out my life’s motto “If I can help somebody along the journey called life with a word or song, then my living will not be in vain.”

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I grew up in a family that instilled in me the powerful “I Can” mantra—I was taught that I could become anything I set my mind to. The sky was the limit, and dreams were meant to come true. My grandmother often reminded me, “You never say ‘I can’t.’ You say, ‘I can, I will, or I’ll try.’” From a young age, I was surrounded by the values of determination, hard work, and service to others.
As I reflect on my life, I am deeply grateful for the people who believed in me, inspired me, and opened doors of opportunity. I learned from my family the importance of using my gifts and talents to make a positive difference in the world. That foundational belief has motivated me to inspire and uplift others—and to launch several businesses that allow me to fully walk in my purpose.
Through 3EEE Consulting, I have the honor of educating, equipping, and empowering individuals and organizations to reach their fullest potential and achieve their goals.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

You are enough, you are beautiful and wonderfully made. You have ideas, gifts, and talents that the world needs to see. When people in your life try to make you think differently about yourself, hit the mute button. Do not let others change who you are. Believe in yourself no matter who does not believe in you. Remember the “I Can” manta, I can do and be anything that I put my mind to.
• You Can Do It-You are the author of your life. Believe in yourself. You have the power to write your own story and create the life that you want to have.
• Start with identifying skills, talents, hobbies, or interests that you have or enjoy, this can give you business ideas. You want to be passionate about your business.
• Connect with other entrepreneurs who have started their businesses and ask questions about how they started. Learning business strategies and barriers will allow you to understand what it’s going to take.
• Research how to start a business and develop a business plan that will outline the mission, vision, services, customers, budget, and marketing strategies. The business plan will serve as a roadmap to starting your business.
• Learn the power of mute. Mute negativity that may come your way, either from yourself or others.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
