We recently connected with Dr. Kristle Shanell Jenkins and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Kristle Shanell, really appreciate your meeting with us today to talk about some particularly personal topics. It means a lot because so many in the community are going through circumstances where your insights and experience and lessons might help, so thank you so much in advance for sharing. The first question we have is about divorce and how you overcame divorce and didn’t allow the trauma of divorce to derail your vision for your life and career.
I overcame divorce with the help of Jesus Christ. If He wasn’t present in my life I’m not sure where I would be. The overwhelming things you have to endure from a divorce I don’t wish it on my worst enemy if I have one. I traveled on every rollercoaster ride you can think about. Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually, Psychologically, Financially, and Physically an unhealthy situation. Just recently released my book “In The Midst Of A Diagnosis” I shared a snippet of my story and testimony. My husband went to Nigeria and married someone else when we were married. This man did this to me in the middle of me getting a cancer diagnosis. Some people are extremely heartless and just wicked. I had to fall on my knees, pray, talk to God, sing and listen to my praise and worship music, listen to sermons, endless walks in the parks, going to church, positive and daily affirmations, long conversations on the phone with my tribe, prayers from others such as my birth mother, spiritual fathers, and mothers, spiritual sisters, friends, and family. Knowing that I have people in this world who truly love me unconditionally so I had to fight. My son, my family, my friends, and knowing people are counting on me are some of the reasons why I overcame divorce. I have a purpose for my life and my work isn’t finished as of yet. I was the chosen vessel because God knew I would be the mouthpiece to speak up and help people all across the world. Although the storms were heartbreaking I’m grateful for the opportunity. Everything I went through was purposeful! It was necessary! God will get the glory out of my story!!!!!
What the enemy meant for my evil God meant for my good. It is well and it will end well in Jesus’ name. 
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My purpose is to share my stories and testimonies all across the world. I am a product of many stories and testimonies. The devil tried it but my God denied it! The devil wanted me dead since I was a little girl but I’m still alive and passing every test the enemy tries to throw at me. I am a survivor and overcomer of verbal abuse, emotional abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse, psychological abuse, spiritual abuse, and many more trials and tribulations. However, your past doesn’t have to be your future. I am the founder of “The Kristle Shanell Radio & TV Show”. I am Dr. Kristle Shanell Jenkins an author, singer, songwriter, counselor, ordained life coach, mentor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational, empowerment, and testimonial speaker, event coordinator, event planner, advocate for mental wellness, self-care, domestic violence, breast cancer, addictions, and so much more.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For anyone who is going through a divorce, I encourage you to pray, push, and press through it all. What the enemy meant for our evil God meant for our good. Throughout the process, many may want to share or tell you what to do and what not to do. I say make sure you hear the voice of the Lord to guide you through difficult times. We must ask Him for strength, understanding, and wisdom. Sometimes you may lose yourself in the process of what you may go through in life. I come to speak life to you today to tell you to adjust your crown. To make you aware that once upon a time your crown may have been tilted but now it’s adjusted. Know your value and always remember you are the prize. Don’t allow anyone to come into your life and steal your joy, peace, and happiness.
