Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. LaChelle Wieme. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dr. LaChelle , thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re very focused on here – improving our ability to make decisions. Everyday, we’re faced with decisions that can impact the future of our careers, businesses, relationships and more and so one of the most impactful areas for personal development, in our view, is decision-making. Can you talk to us about how you developed or improved your decision-making skills?
After years of reading books, listening to podcasts, and having conversations with successful people, one theme kept emerging. Success requires us to CHOOSE to rise above our circumstances and figure out a way. We can either be victims to life or we can choose to figure it out. Unfortunately, many people, including myself often get stuck inside pressure behind the choices. Fear of failure, rejection, unworthiness stalls progress. The cycle of indecision, analysis paralysis, procrastination, perfectionism and overthinking create the quicksand that sabotages progress.
While some people are wired to make decisions faster than others, this ability can (and should) be developed. If free will and an ability to make decisions is our superpower, we owe it to ourselves to use it.
Here are a few things that I’ve learned and teach on how to do just that.
1. You must accept the power of your choices. Your circumstances are the effect of your choices. If you want better, you must own the fact that it is up to you. That is choice number one.
2. You must discover and heal any limiting beliefs that are not in alignment with an empowered identity. Lack of confidence, unworthiness, and helplessness at the subconscious level will impact the place from which you make the decision, how you make the decision, or whether or not you ever make the decision. Identifying the root limiting beliefs allow you to see how they’ve been acting like puppet strings throughout all areas of your life. Once the root limiting beliefs are replaced with empowering truths, everything shifts.
3. You must identify any fears that prevent both the decision and execution. Courage can be learned through simple risk-taking behaviors. After all, confidence comes from action fueled by courage. Action does not come from confidence. Naming your worst case scenario with each fear can also help. Once you’ve identified what you’re really most afraid of, you can create a plan for how you would handle it. Knowing you actually can handle the very worst case scenario empowers you to know you can handle the fear. In addition, surrounding yourself with a brave and encouraging support system will foster positive influence and encourage the growth needed.
4. You must learn to connect with and trust your intuition. Many people make decisions using logic alone. They make their lists of pros and cons and carefully weigh the risks. Unfortunately, neuroscience can explain the limitations of this approach. Our brain will filter out information that does not align with what it knows to be true. If you have a false, disempowered belief to start, you will only see evidence to support that and ignore a vast sea of perspective available to you. When you can tap into your subconscious, your higher power, or higher consciousness, all available answers and resources are revealed. In addition, this supernatural “knowing” allows you to trust that you are being guided and that everything will work out for your good. Prayer, meditation, muscle-testing, and neurolinguistic programing can all support this expansive “knowing” and trust. You no longer are carrying all of the weight and the pressure then melts away.
What many people don’t realize is its the lack of making the decision that is keeping them stuck. Once you make the decision, you can get into “dealing with it” mode. It’s the swirling analysis that takes up most of our energy. Once the decision is made, that energy can be focused on the positive actions that are required for success.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I thought that I was on the “right” path as a nurse anesthesiologist and professor. Even though I was living out all of my self-made goals, deep down I was out of balance. My desire for making an impact took me further and further from the mom and wife I wanted to be. Starting my first online business in 2016 was the shift I needed to discover the “AND” life, a life where I could be challenged and fulfilled AND be a present mom, wife, and travel the world. I discovered hidden talents I had and a deep desire to fulfill a greater purpose and potential within my life. Now, I’m on a mission to do the same for others.
Too many of us allow our “buts” to get in the way of our divine path.
“I would quit my job, but…”
“I would be more successful, but…”
“I would get out of that marriage, but…”
“I would start that thing, but…”
“I would follow through with all of that, but…”
Deeply seeded limiting beliefs of unworthiness and fear of being rejected kept me playing small and safe for most of my life. Chasing my worthiness with college degrees and fancy job titles kept me from a balanced life. Discovering the roots of my limiting beliefs and building an identity grounded in my divine truth, confidence, and worthiness changed everything. This internal transformation was the catalyst for leaving my full time medical career and transitioning into my calling.
Now, I’m spending my time helping others bust through the “buts” that are holding them back. Through my Spiral Up coaching program, I lead spirit-led, service-based solopreneurs on a path of making the decisions necessary to manifest sustainable cashflow without overthinking and burnout. With the help of scripture, quantum physics, and brain science, they are living out a more balanced, fulfilled, and abundant life because they harness the power of making decisions from a strong, worthy identity.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Recognize your superpower of free will. You get to choose every moment whether you are going to give in and give up or whether you’re going to rise above. Always choose to find a way. Your life and what you do with it is your responsibility. That’s powerful!
2. Discovering the hidden subconscious blocks that have been running the show on autopilot and replacing them with empowering truth is a game-changer. Most people seek strategies to get ahead but faulty limiting beliefs will prevent you from executing them to their fullest potential. A healed and healthy mindset is necessary for successful follow-through.
3. Tap into your higher power and higher consciousness to carry some of the load. You are not meant to figure it out on your own and all the pressure that you’re holding isn’t yours to hold. You have access to everything you need if you trust that it’s there and you learn to trust your discernment. Everything is perfectly, perfect and working out FOR you. Stop trying to force and start receiving.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
As a high achiever who is driven by impact, it’s easy to add too many things to my plate. Here are a few things I do to help and teach my clients to do as well.
1. Remember that overwhelm is a choice. I can either choose to focus on the feelings of being out of control or I can choose to find solutions or changes in perspective. It’s always a choice.
2. I ask myself if I’m making my decisions out of love or fear. Decisions out of love feel expansive and align with our passions and purpose. Decisions out of fear are rooted in insecurities, people-pleasing, co-dependency, and lack of trust. Making decisions out of fear, even with good intentions, are never for my best good. By keeping my motivations in check, I’m able to decide what’s a “hell yes” and what’s a “no.”
3. I tap into my subconscious and higher power to guide me. Prayer, meditation, and muscle testing are all ways I ask my higher power and consciousness “yes/no” questions that guide my to-do list. I then must trust my discernment and be willing to do, delete, delegate, or delay based on how I’m being supernaturally guided.
4. I must be willing to receive help. People often let pride, unworthiness, perfectionism, control, and fear prevent them from asking for and receiving help.
5. Working smarter, not harder is king. Even though I’m a creative person, I had to figure out how to get organized. It starts with the decision and a willingness to see it through. This also includes adding team members whose talents compensate for my shortcomings. Being willing to invest time and money in automation and efficient processes is also necessary. Setting aside time to create long-term improvement in my systems has been a game-changer. Finally, I had to be willing to delegate. This involves getting over any scarcity mindset blocks related to investing in help as well as perfectionism and control.
