We were lucky to catch up with Dr. Lisel Lewis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Lisel, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
There is one absolute. All good things come to an end. I find a lot of peace in this. You can live the more amazing life, that life will end one day. You can live a horrible life, that life will end one day. I am happy to know that all bad times will pass… and in the same exact way… all good times will pass. You might as well do what you want in life and engage in things you enjoy, because you cant take your money or time with you when you die.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am focused on being authentic. As a chiropractor, there are a lot of different styles and techniques of practice. I have had thousands of hours of school, thousands of hours of business coaching, thousands of hours of networking. My specialty is being honest and transparent with my patients. The truth is, your body is self healing. A chiropractor is removing nerve interference from your spine, so nerves can flow easily from your brain & spinal cord to your muscles, tissue & organs. When this happens, your body is able to heal and function properly. All of my education has taught me one thing; your body can heal. My patients get that message and see the results when they are receiving regular chiropractic adjustments.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Even as a solo chiropractor, I give credit to my mentors. I have had hundreds of incredible mentors that taught me different chiropractic techniques and different ways of running a business. My mentors are still my friends to this day. Early in your journey, find a mentor who has done the things you like to do, and emulate them. If you cant afford to pay a coach, then volunteer and intern or shadow a doctor you admire. Additionally, serve on a mission trip! If you can volunteer time and energy to practice your craft for people in need, everyone benefits. You get to practice your skill, and the patient experiences your care.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love spreading the message of health. Ideal partnerships for me are written outlets like this, podcasts and in person speaking engagements. I would love to record more podcasts and speak at various seminars.
