Meet Dr. Lunide Adeeko

We were lucky to catch up with Dr. Lunide Adeeko recently and have shared our conversation below.

Dr. Lunide , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Once upon a time, I found myself caught in the usual whirlwind of motherhood. My purpose – to make the task of cleaning baby bottles easier and less messy for mothers everywhere – was not born from tranquility, but from a chaotic kitchen at midnight.

One evening, as the moonlight spilled through the window, my daughter Peace was restless and hungry. A chorus of urgent cries filled the air, a reminder that her tiny belly needed filling. Yet, the sight that met my eyes was a countertop filled with dirty bottles.

The thought of cleaning them made my heart sink. Not because of the task itself, but because of the inevitable aftermath – my clothes drenched, and my kitchen splashed with water. But I had no choice. Peace needed her milk, and the bottles needed to be clean.

In the midst of my hurried actions, I noticed a discarded Styrofoam cup by the sink. Desperate for any kind of respite from the impending mess, I placed the cup upside down over the bottle brush bristles. To my surprise, the cup covered the bottle opening perfectly, creating a barrier that miraculously kept the splashing water at bay. The result was a clean bottle, a dry mom, and a quiet kitchen.

It was a eureka moment, born from a mundane task and a desperate need for a solution. It was then that the concept of Kuvri sparked in my mind. An invention that seemed simple but had the potential to bring an ocean of relief to mothers worldwide, facing the same daily struggle.

This was the moment that guided me to my purpose – to make the task of cleaning baby bottles less of a chore and more of a breeze. This purpose was not just for me, but for mothers everywhere, washing bottle after bottle in the quiet hours of the night. And thus, Kuvri was born, designed to splash away the mess, not the mother.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As the founder and CEO of Kuvri, I spend my days pouring my heart into creating products that ease the daily routines of parents worldwide. The most exciting part of this venture? It’s the impact we’re making – one less messy, more comfortable bottle cleaning experience at a time.

Kuvri was born from personal experience and a eureka moment, as I found a solution to a problem that millions of mothers face every day. We strive to reduce the daily stressors of parenting, starting with making bottle cleaning a breeze. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey as the founder of Kuvri, I can identify three essential qualities that significantly shaped my path: resilience, creativity, and the thirst for knowledge.

Firstly, resilience is the cornerstone of any entrepreneurial journey. There are always hurdles along the way, and it’s your resilience that keeps you standing and moving forward. For those early in their journey, remember that setbacks are not the end, but opportunities to learn and grow stronger. Cultivate resilience by staying focused on your goals, practicing emotional intelligence, and developing a supportive network.

Secondly, creativity has been pivotal. The birth of Kuvri came from a moment of creative problem-solving, turning an everyday challenge into an innovative solution. Foster your creativity by embracing curiosity, seeking diverse perspectives, and allowing yourself the freedom to think outside the box. Remember, the most effective solutions often come from the most unexpected ideas.

Lastly, the thirst for knowledge is crucial. Being in a constant state of learning, from understanding market trends to exploring the latest technologies, equips you with the tools to navigate and innovate within your industry. Invest in your education—formal or informal. Read widely, attend workshops, webinars, or courses, and never hesitate to ask questions.

To those embarking on their journey, I would advise you to lean into these qualities. Embrace resilience, cultivate your creativity, and never quench your thirst for knowledge. It won’t always be an easy path, but it will certainly be rewarding. You are capable of incredible things – believe in yourself, and let your journey unfold.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely, collaboration is key to Kuvri’s growth. We firmly believe in the power of partnerships and the mutual benefits that can arise from them.

Firstly, we’re very interested in partnering with established baby bottle brands. As we are offering a product that complements theirs perfectly, this could be a win-win situation for both our customers and businesses. If you’re a part of such a brand and see potential in a collaboration that can enhance customer satisfaction and drive growth, we’re eager to connect.

Secondly, we’re always on the lookout for influencers in the baby industry. Parents often turn to these trusted voices for advice, recommendations, and insight. If you’re an influencer who aligns with our mission to make parents’ lives easier and believe your audience would benefit from Kuvri, let’s talk.

Lastly, we’re also keen to connect with investors who understand our mission and see the potential in what we’re doing. As mentioned, we’ve recently launched a campaign on WeFunder, which offers an exciting opportunity to invest in our growth and share in our success.
