We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dr. Misha Kouzeh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dr. Misha below.
Dr. Misha, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by staying curious and leaning into challenges. Having worked in high-stakes environments, from startups with limited resources to Fortune 500 companies like Unilever and organizations such as the United Nations’ World Health Organization, I have learned that creativity is not optional. It is the difference between standing still and moving forward. Tight budgets and fast pivots often force the most inventive solutions, and I thrive in those moments.
For me, creativity is curiosity in action. I stay inspired by exploring how technology can be used intentionally, whether that means experimenting with AI, studying how social platforms shape culture, or testing new ways to tell stories that resonate.
That mindset is also what led me to launch Social Media for Social Impact. The podcast is my space to stay curious out loud, bringing together innovators who are using digital platforms not just to chase clicks but to build trust and drive real change. Every conversation sparks new ideas and every lesson feeds back into my client work, helping brands and organizations push boundaries even when resources are tight.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the founder of Tech Makes History, a consultancy that helps organizations and leaders use digital media, marketing, and technology as a force for good. My work has centered on supporting purpose-driven brands and mission-oriented companies, from healthcare startups to global organizations addressing social and environmental challenges. What excites me most is helping clients translate their values into action and designing strategies that not only grow their business but also create measurable impact in the communities they serve.
Alongside my consulting work, I serve as a university professor where I teach graduate courses on digital media, leadership, and social impact. I have also lectured at Stanford, UCLA, and Cal State Universities. Teaching allows me to bring real-world insights into the classroom while learning from students who are eager to reimagine how technology can shape society.
Most recently, I launched Social Media for Social Impact, a podcast that extends the mission of Tech Makes History. It is a platform where I bring together innovators and changemakers to explore how digital tools can be used intentionally to build trust and drive results. Looking ahead, my focus is on expanding the reach of Tech Makes History, deepening partnerships with organizations committed to sustainability and equity, and continuing to bridge research with practice across my teaching and podcasting work.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the first quality that shaped my journey was resilience. As an immigrant building a career across three continents, I often found myself starting over in new environments. That experience taught me how to adapt quickly, learn cultural nuances, and keep moving forward even when the path was uncertain. My advice to those starting out is to view challenges not as setbacks but as opportunities to build resilience and resourcefulness.
The second skill that made a difference was curiosity. I was never afraid to step into new fields, from nutrition to marketing to social impact, and that curiosity helped me connect ideas across industries. For those early in their careers, I encourage you to stay open, ask questions, and look for intersections where your interests can create something unique.
Finally, communication has been essential. Whether presenting research, speaking on a TEDx stage, or consulting with organizations like the World Health Organization or Unilever, the ability to share ideas clearly and with purpose has opened doors. My advice is to practice communication in every form, from writing to speaking to listening, because it is the bridge that connects your vision to real-world impact.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, I am always looking for meaningful collaborations. Through my consultancy Tech Makes History, I work with purpose-driven organizations that want to use digital media, marketing, and technology to create both business results and social impact. I especially enjoy partnering with leaders in the tech, healthcare, and sustainability spaces who are eager to reimagine how digital platforms can build trust and spark change.
I am also looking to collaborate through my new podcast, Social Media for Social Impact. I welcome conversations with innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who have stories or strategies to share about using technology in creative and intentional ways.
