Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Nakita Davis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Nakita, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
“Confidence smells sweeter than your favorite perfume!” ~ Dr. Nakita Davis
When you know who you are and whose you are, you are able to confidently walk Boldly into any room recognizing the power and authority you possess. This is not to be confused with cockiness; but no matter whose in the room, your confidence combined with your skill set and the value that you bring will speak volumes.
I had to learn this a long time ago. Being a child born in the inner city and among undeserved communities, I learned how to rise above any room or adversity by focusing on being my best version. This started in the classroom when I excelled in Honors and AP classes and ultimately landed me at Fortune Top 9 organization dominating in corporate sales and leadership.
In both scenarios, I was rarely the majority. From school to the board room, not only was I different in appearance (most of my counterparts were white males) but I often was the youngest in these rooms. All Glory to God, I always handled my own weight well and quickly gained the respect of my peers/counterparts because I focused on the goals and the vision and not the outward circumstances that I had no direct control over. This doesn’t mean that I was oblivious, but I knew my work ethic, stellar results, and God-like confidence (in who God created me to be) would win over key stake holders/decision makers… and it often did.
Colleagues would wonder how I got access granted opportunities usually reserved for Senior leadership or advancement opportunities that they didn’t even know about.
It was my faith, hard-work, ability to be my authentic-self, add value to any room, and stay 2 steps ahead of many. I intentionally walked into any room as if I belonged there- from the school room to the board room, because I did.
Advice to those maneuvering in uncharted waters- Stay true to you. Don’t become someone else’s clone, move with intentionality and boldly go after your goals.
I take this same stance now as a full-time entrepreneur, award-winning publicist, influencer, Keynote Speaker and Best-Selling Publisher.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’ve learned so many valuable lessons from both my nearly 15 year tenure in Corporate sales/leadership and being a successful business owner for over 5 years collectively.
Top 3 qualities that every successful entrepreneur must have to WIN Big includes: Faith, Consistency in showing up everyday for their brand, business, and core audience, and the ability to network and collaborate with the right people. I am a fond believer in “Your Network is your Net worth!” When I think about my most extraordinary wins and breakthroughs, all of these components were vital to my success.
Entrepreneurs struggling to consistently grow and scale would be wise to reevaluate their core values, belief system in themselves, their ability or inability to leverage their network, and the way they convey their product/service and business image to their Dream Clients. Get in a reputable coaching program, find a mentor who is doing what you hope to achieve, leverage your resources and I’m not just talking about money.
Remember, people will always be the #1 asset to any thriving business.
Above all else, remember your why, dare to dream bigger, think inside the box because you already have all that you need.
See the world as your opportunity to make a lasting impact, build a legacy, and making a healthy income while doing it.
Confidence alongside your faith and consistency will serve you, your vision, and clients well.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As a visionary and innovator who dreams BIG with the proven execution to match, I am always looking to connect, collaborate, partner, and do business with high-achieving Women of Faith, business owners, speakers, authors, and coaches who take their craft- their Calling seriously. Women who understand the assignment over their life and the global impact they’ve been called to make. Women who are bold, confident, add ridiculous value to the lives of the people they’ve been called to serve, and are willing to invest in their future dreams becoming a reality.
People who are unsure, lack confidence in their brand, and the impact they’ve been destined to pursue are not my ideal collaboration, partnerships, or clients. I’m in a very intentional season that requires me and my teams efforts to be laser focused on those who are ready to put in the work required to win.
Women who are crushing the status quo, raising the bar for everyone they encounter, lifting while they climb, and have a reputable business/product or service are absolutely welcomed to reach out to my team for PR client opportunities, guidance, partnership, and elevated access granted opportunities.
