We recently connected with Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn and have shared our conversation below.
Dr. Tara, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
There are three facets to my self-esteem development journey. The first one is through self-care. For me that looks like, meditating, journaling, reading, and exercising. This part is different for everyone. These self-care routines remind me to treat myself and love myself. The second one is through setting clear goals (small and big) and accomplishing them consistently. Consistency helps us build trust in ourselves and that has boosted my self-esteem. The third one is by surrounding myself with supportive, kind, and inspiring people.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a sexpert, I always look for ways to spread my message of sex positivity. Normalizing conversations about sex in mainstream media has always been one of my goals and I can say that I’m accomplishing it! I’m the new agent on the hit TV series in the UK “Celebs Go Dating.” My role on the show is the sexpert and it’s been a dream being able to talk about sex openly and positively on television.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The top three skills for solo entrepreneurs with personal brands, in my opinion, are interpersonal communication skills, time management, and finding the right team members. My advice for people who are early in their journey is to engage in as many networking opportunities as possible. Talk to people and hone your communication skills. Prioritize your tasks and take really good care of your mind and body. Lastly, invest in yourself and hire team members to grow your business. Outline the things you’re not the best at or that you need help with and hire good people with great attitude for it.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
To be honest, the most impactful thing my parents did for me that’s still very much in effect positively now in my life is forcing me to meditate since I was 5. Growing up as a child I meditated daily with my family. They even sent me to a junior meditation camp! It has helped me immensely in regulating my emotions, stress, and being able to concentrate.
