Meet Dr. Vijay Naik

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Vijay Naik a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Dr. Vijay, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Becoming a healthcare provider is a noble endeavor that often comes with immense challenges. As a former medical student myself, I understand firsthand the rigorous journey towards becoming a healthcare provider. The long hours of studying, the countless clinical rotations, and the constant worry of performing well on exams can make it all feel unbearable. However, despite the difficulties, I knew from a young age that my purpose was to help people in need, which is why I chose to pursue a career in the medical field. As I began studying for my USMLE exam, I faced many sleepless nights, bouts of frustration and feelings of defeat. It was then that I realized my true calling: helping students navigate the complex journey towards passing their USMLE exams. To this end, I created Survivors Exam Prep, a comprehensive resource to help students overcome the obstacles on their journey towards becoming healthcare providers.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As someone who has been through the rigors of medical school and knows just how challenging it can be, I created The Survivors Exam Prep to give students the comprehensive program they need to succeed. With our Step 1-3 courses, students receive 375 minutes of test-taking skill training and 21 hours of topic-based live lectures each week. We also provide access to audio pharmacology lectures and paperback course textbooks, all delivered right to their doorsteps. The world of medicine can be intimidating, but our program is designed to give students the tools they need to thrive. Our interactive lectures are designed to get students drilling the information they need, and we focus on promoting a true understanding of basic sciences. We know that success in the medical field takes hard work, determination, and a great support system, and that’s what we aim to provide with our Survivors Exam Prep.

I started Survivors Exam Prep with one goal in mind: to help future medical professionals succeed. As someone who has gone through the grueling process of studying for exams and taking them, I understand the importance of reliable and up-to-date study materials. That’s why our team of experts is dedicated to constantly updating and revising our materials to ensure that students have access to the most accurate information available. We want you to feel confident in your knowledge and abilities so that you can ace your test and move on to the next step in your career. With Survivors Exam Prep, you can trust that you’re getting top-quality preparation that will help you succeed.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As I reflect on my journey starting the Survivors Exam Prep, a course I designed in preparation for the USMLE, there are three standout skills or areas of knowledge that have greatly impacted my success. Firstly, determination has been key. This journey has undoubtedly been challenging, but my unwavering determination has kept me pushing forward even through the hardest moments. Secondly, having a strong work ethic has been instrumental. The amount of studying and preparation required to create an exam prep course for other to take this already challenging exam is immense, but by sticking to a disciplined routine, I have been able to help many students pass their exam. Finally, a deep understanding of the subject matter has been crucial. It’s one thing to memorize facts and figures, but truly grasping the subject matter has allowed me to tackle questions with confidence and accuracy and teach that unto my student aswell.

As someone who has been through the early stages of their own journey, my advice for those just starting out is to stay curious and open-minded. Explore different paths and possibilities, without being too attached to any particular outcome. It’s important to have goals and aspirations, but don’t let them limit your potential or cause you unnecessary stress. Embrace failure and use it as a learning opportunity, rather than a setback. Find mentors and role models who inspire you, but also trust your own instincts and intuition. And most importantly, don’t forget to celebrate your progress and acknowledge the hard work and dedication you put in along the way. The journey is just as important as the destination.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
As someone who has been through the rigorous process of taking the USMLE Exam, I understand firsthand the challenges that students face on their journey. That’s why, at Survivors Exam Prep, our ideal client is a student who is not only eager to learn but also dedicated to putting in the work to develop a deep understanding of the medical field. We provide a comprehensive program that will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed on the exam and beyond. With the exam being no easy feat, having a student who is committed to our program is crucial. Our goal at Survivors Exam Prep is not just to help you pass the exam, but to empower you with the confidence and expertise to thrive in your future medical career.
