Meet Dr. Zoë Indigo, MD

We recently connected with Dr. Zoë Indigo, MD and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Zoë , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from my incredible mother. She’s always been my inspiration. She started her career as a USPS postal worker—aka ‘mail lady’—and showed me the value of hard work, determination, and showing up for others no matter what. Watching her balance work, family, and her own aspirations taught me resilience and the importance of giving 100% to everything I do. Her dedication still drives me today.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As a board-certified dermatologist, I specialize in both medical and cosmetic dermatology with a focus on empowering my patients to look and feel their best. Whether it’s treating hair loss, addressing acne, or offering anti-aging solutions like Botox, fillers, or cutting-edge lasers, I approach every case with the belief that skincare is deeply personal and deserves a holistic touch.

What excites me most is the art of what I do. Dermatology is more than science—it’s about creating balance, harmony, and confidence. My passion lies in tailoring treatments to each individual, celebrating diversity in skin and beauty, and ensuring everyone feels seen and cared for.

My brand, Skintervention Dermatology, is rooted in concierge care and a commitment to health equity. With locations in Beverly Hills and our exciting expansion to Inglewood, we’re making expert skincare more accessible. I’m launching new educational resources, including Instagram Reels on skincare tips and treatments, and planning a series of pop-up events to connect more personally with the community.

For me, it’s all about empowering people through beauty and wellness. When you feel good in your skin, there’s nothing you can’t do.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been pivotal in my journey: adaptability, empathy, and perseverance. These qualities were shaped by unique experiences that taught me to connect with people, embrace challenges, and stay committed to my purpose.

1. Adaptability:
Working as an international flight attendant for Delta Air Lines taught me how to think on my feet and connect with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. From navigating language barriers to handling unexpected situations at 30,000 feet, I learned to stay calm under pressure and embrace the unknown. My advice: seek experiences that push you out of your comfort zone. Travel, volunteer, or take on roles that require flexibility—it’s how you grow.

2. Empathy:
Medical mission work in Ghana, Haiti, India, and Rwanda deeply shaped my perspective. Seeing the resilience of communities facing significant challenges taught me the importance of listening and understanding people’s unique needs. Empathy is what drives me to provide care that’s personalized and equitable. My advice: get involved in service work or mentorship. When you step into someone else’s shoes, you build a foundation of compassion that will guide your work.

3. Perseverance:
Researching skin-related autoimmune conditions at the NIH required a commitment to learning and solving complex problems. Perseverance has been essential in every stage of my career, from medical school to running my own practice. My advice: embrace the hard moments. Seek mentorship, celebrate small wins, and always keep your long-term goals in mind.

For those just starting their journey, my best advice is to embrace every opportunity as a learning experience, even if it doesn’t seem directly aligned with your goals. Every step, every challenge, and every connection builds your foundation for success.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely! I’m always looking for meaningful collaborations that align with my passion for beauty, wellness, and empowering people through personalized care. I’m particularly interested in partnering with brands, creators, and thought leaders who are committed to health equity, innovation, and inclusivity—whether it’s in skincare, beauty, wellness, or public health.

I’d love to collaborate on projects ranging from educational content and community events to product development or creative campaigns that inspire and uplift others. If you’re a journalist, influencer, entrepreneur, or brand with a shared vision, let’s connect!
