Hi Duce Mat , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I’ve failed more times than I can count, but I don’t see failure as a setback. Each one taught me something valuable. I take those lessons, apply them, and try again — that’s how my resilience was built.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I work in tech, but my true passion is creating. It all started with photography — just me and a camera trying to express myself. That curiosity led me to graphic design for my clothing line, then photo and video editing, each step unlocking a new layer of creativity.

Over time, those skills helped me bring other people’s ideas to life, which pushed me to grow even more. Now, I focus on short-form content and teaching beginners how to create videos. I do it to be the person I wish I had when I started — someone who understands how it feels to have big ideas but little support. That’s why I create: to show others their vision matters.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Storytelling, video editing, and working in IT have all shaped how I think. Storytelling taught me how to capture attention, while video editing taught me patience, planning, and time management. Tech, on the other hand, showed me how to learn fast and build systems that last. Together, those worlds — creativity and technology — taught me that structure and process are just as important as passion if you want longevity.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

My biggest growth as a creator came when I started focusing on providing value for others. That’s when I gained the most YouTube subscribers, had a few viral videos, and saw real momentum on TikTok. The moment I stopped making it about me and started helping people, everything changed.

If you want to grow, lead with value. Everyone has something they can share that helps others — lean into that, and your audience will find you.
