Durrell, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from the seeing so many different sides of life for so many people. I’ve seen people in situations I’ve prayed to never be in and situations that a lot of people pray to be in everyday. In those situations respectively, I’ve seen people going through tribulations and deal with it with a positive mindset which is always a reminder that the only way to come across positivity is to keep some sort of optimism even when in turmoil.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My brand is always expanding by the day. I have so many ideas flowing and I am not a fan of leaving stones unturned. Make Wonders Worldwide represents exactly what is reads. My goal is to make everything I touch, wonderful, across the board and across the world, as far as we can take it. Working with cameras, whether it’s video or photo, I treat every instance as if it is the biggest thing it could be when it comes to the dedication and thought put into a project. Everyone is a star in some shape or form so I always get excited just to be able to show someone what they are and could be just through my vision alone. For my foreseeable future, I will be releasing photo books, more amazing visuals, films, commercials, and everything in between. I’ve also started releasing music and there will be a lot more of that in the mix of it all as well.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities or skills that were most impactful in my journey to where I am today, are patience, following through with plans, and trying to make everything fun, even the things that would be perceived as the most boring. If you can stay focused and stay true to what you really want in life, the way things happen will surprise you every time. A lot of people have a vision for what they want but aren’t sure of how to cultivate it in their reality so when you just focus on knocking down the goals in front you, you will realize you are steady on your own path to success on your own life timeline.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me is put a camera in my hands early in my childhood, due to recording most of my life for home videos. They also supported me when I decided to drop out of college when I was pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and decided to take on my passion of photography/videography head on. My life has forever changed since that moment and I wouldn’t know so many people that I do if I did stay on pace for my law enforcement career.
