We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dylan, Lonzo, Nic, Chris, and Adrian. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dylan, Lonzo, Nic, Chris, and Adrian below.
Dylan, Lonzo, Nic, Chris, and Adrian, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
There’s various ways we keep creativity alive, some of us keep busy with our faith in Christ or getting outside our comfort zone by talking to other people. We even get into relationships that are doomed from the start so that way we have something to write about. But mainly the big way we keep the creative spark alive is by just continuing to move forward, and not worrying about what anybody else thinks.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
We are Superloser, an indie rock group from Chino, California. The band was started in 2019 when our frontman Dylan was visited in a dream by the ghost of John Lennon who told him “you are Superloser, all one word, and with two underscores in your Instagram username” and I guess you can say the rest of the history is ongoing.
We just released our second LP called “Drift” on May 24th, which is available on all streaming platforms now and will be available on physical formats on our website soon. By the time your readers read this we’ll also be wrapping up our US tour in support of the album, which consisted of 12 dates across the country as well as various promo appearances on radio, YouTube channels, and birthday parties.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The big one is definitely communication. The five of us value communicating with one another so heavily, and it’s something that we think contributes to our success and chemistry as a group. Another quality we value is thinking outside the box, it’s so easy to get into the mundane when it comes to life, so with our music we try to go against that and in turn go against the grain. Lastly knowing not to sell ourselves short is something that we have to remind ourselves consistently. We know we have what it takes to go far, and in the same regard we also know that we’re our own worst critics. So we do what we can to lift each other up.
With all three of these in mind, the biggest piece of advice we can give to artists or bands that are just starting out and reading this: don’t settle, keep moving forward, and don’t let anyone tell you that it’s impossible. Unless it’s something ridiculous like jumping off the Empire State Building and flying, it is possible.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
We’ve seen a huge growth both in our social media following, going from a little over 400 followers this time last year to almost 1100 followers now. Between that and more opportunities to play shows both in the United States and soon in Europe, the growth of the band both in the public eye and in private with just new music and adding both Chris and Adrian into the lineup within the past year have been huge for our growth as a group. I guess you can call 2024 “The Year of Superloser”.
