Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eboni Feaster . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Eboni, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
One essential quality that has helped me maintain optimism is my ability to find inspiration in the mundane. I see beauty in the everyday objects. I make connections and associations with what I see and this mindset has allowed me to stay curious, to appreciate the small wonders, and to infuse my art with fun and positivity.
Community is big for me because I’ve found a supportive tribe of artists online that motivate and inspire me to push towards new boundaries.
As I continue on this artistic journey, I’ve come to realize that optimism is not just a mindset, but a choice. I choose to see the beauty in the world, to focus on the good, and to spread joy through my art.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a quirky and creative visual artist, I’ve always been drawn to color and the thrill of bringing imagination to life while creating my own unique world. My entire life has encouraged me to draw and continue getting better. My parents, both artists themselves, encouraged my creativity, providing me with an endless support and resources.
One day, I figured I could draw pictures on different unique surfaces like food. While aware that no other artists has ever done this, I decided to challenge myself to do it as a feat for social media to stand out in the algorithm. I draw portraits of celebrities on Poptarts and other items they’re associated with as a way of showing the versatility of my skill and also comedic relief to my audience.
I love to make people think and allow the youth to be inspired by what they believe they can do. I always try to be creative with my approach for example: creating portraits of celebrities that have words in their name that I can relate to my art. I drew the rapper 2 Chainz our of actual chains, drew the rapper Lil Baby on an actual Baby doll and I also drew Blueface on a hundred dollar bill which is also known as a “blue face”.
My artistic journey has been a winding path, filled with twists and turns. I’ve experimented with various mediums, from acrylics and pastels to digital art, and now currently poptart art. Each new adventure has taught me to be fearless, to take risks, and to trust the creative process.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities I think were most impactful are creativity, perseverance and experimental play. You have to be willing to put yourself out there despite the chance of being ignored. A lot of the times getting no response is very discouraging and embarrassing when I post my content. I persevere despite the lack of support because I have faith in my vision that I want to bring to life. The advice I have for people is to forget about money and invest in the feeling they want to possess. Your energy is your currency. Use the feeling of success to pull you toward fun projects that you enjoy making. People love to watch other people enjoy themselves. I believe it’s an energy exchange and this can translate into actual real abundance over time.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth has been how I handle my clientele. Over the past 12 months, I’ve observed that compassion is a key in any field of customer service. The more I dive into my clients perspective, the more emotion I put into the painting I’m creating for them. The transference of energy is very real especially when a client asks me to paint a loved one who has passed away, I feel their point of view and it helps me to respect every detail that goes into the painting.
