Hi Ebony, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My inner strength has been forged through a series of challenging experiences I faced at a young age. Despite the fact that many who know me may not be aware, one of the most traumatic incidents involved a fellow student holding me hostage with a knife after school in the 5th grade. From there, I was rezoned to a school in a rougher neighborhood, forcing me into a new environment that was very far from the sheltered life I was used to. This forced adaptation became a pivotal moment that molded my resilience. Overcoming these predicaments instilled something in me that can only be described as transformative. I lean on my faith which is a guiding principle in all that I do.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Realtor in a Leadership role at my Brokerage, Braden Real Estate Group, and the Co-Owner of a Real Estate Photography/Videography Franchise called Snaphouss. What excites me most is being in an industry of constant change and innovation, while getting to connect with people through an important phase of their lives. Currently, we are gearing up for a shift in the market where I suspect will bring a renewed energy for the Real Estate industry.”
I’m proud to say that I am a part of a minority women owned, Brokerage who exudes the pinnacle of excellence. In my role as New Agent Advisor, I get the honor of introducing the culture and core values to our agents. We have expanded business into Dallas as well as grown the organization to over 100 agents in just 3 short years.
The incorporation of the Snaphouss franchise for my partner and I, marked a crucial step in vertically integrating our business, especially given our roles as Top Producers within the office. This strategic move has significantly enhanced our operations and positioned us for continued success.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As I look back on my journey, three qualities that significantly influenced my success are resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning. The ability to bounce back from setbacks, adapt to my environment, and maintain a commitment to ongoing learning, has been crucial. My advice for those early in their journey is to foster resilience by embracing challenges and focusing on solutions. Adapt to life with positive energy and by setting clear goals with a plan to achieve them. Lastly, prioritize continuous learning, stay curious, seek opportunities, and expand your knowledge. These qualities will serve as a solid foundation for navigating entrepreneurship.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my most significant area of growth has been in cultivating a strong belief in myself and recognizing my worth. I’ve come to understand the importance of self-confidence and acknowledging that I deserve more in many aspects of my life. I am fired up to pursue opportunities, both personally and professionally, with a newfound sense of determination. My new mindset has not only empowered me to take on challenges but has also positively influenced my decision-making, allowing me to strive for goals and aspirations that I might have hesitated to pursue in the past. I’ve learned to trust in my thoughts, value my contributions, and advocate for my own success, fostering a transformative journey of self-discovery and advancement.
