Meet Ed And Ysante McDowell

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ed And Ysante McDowell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Ed and Ysante , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Developing confidence and self esteem comes from our faith and believing in what you have. It took going into rooms where you are different but realizing that you are enough. When viewed through the wrong eyes, they would say it’s arrogance. That is not the case for us. We know where we started and by God’s grace we know where we are headed.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Ed’s All Purpose Seasoning started in our kitchen. Ed was experimenting and came up with what we know today as Ed’s All Purpose Seasoning. He called his wife, Ysante, into the kitchen to taste it and she immediately knew they had something of value. Ysante began to build the brand into a business. What started as one seasoning and rub in small trial size bags is now 8 different bottled seasonings and rubs sold in stores. In August of 2024, the first Ed’s fish batter was launched. We are focused on a possible food truck and a small spice manufacturing plant.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The most impactful qualities in our journey have been faith, passion, and love for people. You must first believe in what you do and what you have. There must be a passion that cancels out any negativity or fear of rejection. You must also remember the golden rule: Do unto others as you want others to do unto you. These traits along with learning business, learning the market of your business, and continued education of the fundamentals of business.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

We are currently seeking other founders wanting to collaborate with as we grow. We are seeking investors who believe in what we have and are willing to go with us on this journey.
