Meet Edd Eats

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Edd Eats . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Edd, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Being the only one in the room, wouldn’t be a first and won’t be the last. It had its pros and cons, let’s start with the bad. It’s intimidating, how do you know how to do something that’s never been done before? How do you move in a room that’s filled with ones who may look at you as an outsider? Automatically assume you may not be qualified because you’re not their kind. Well, here’s the good. You show them. That’s your motivation. Be the outsider, embrace it. Make your mark, make them think twice. Being the only one in the room that looks like me makes me realize I only got one shot to leave my presence and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

What’s the deal yall, I go by EddEats. I’m a social media food critic and influencer on all platforms. I’m an advocate in my community and I love leaving my mark where I go. What sets me apart is I love to highlight businesses and restaurants who people wouldn’t think to go, such as worst rated restaurants. The idea behind it is to “myth bust” whether there spots just had bad days, made improvements since said reviews, or just out right isn’t good.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

My top three assets would be patience, technology, and being one for the people. Patience you can’t teach, but I promise it goes a long way. Don’t take anything personal, but always know you’re a person at the end of the day. Technology is constantly evolving so I’d suggest everyone at least be aware! And always be kind, people love other people. Make someone’s day wherever you can.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I always say if I could collaborate on every video I do I would. I love collaborating, don’t have to be in the same industry but have the same strive and dedication. Love interacting with people and people love watching those interactions.
