We recently connected with Eddie McDonald and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Eddie with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from my parents and life itself. My mom showed me and my siblings what it was to be a hard work adult as she has and continues to be a faithful worker and mother of three. My dad always had us working some kind of project from home repairs to yard work. We used to even go do other family members. As a child, I used to get upset that we worked so much but life has taught me that success requires or rather demands hard work.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
If I can sum up what I do, I would explain it as a multimedia specialist. I am an independent filmmaker with a specialization in directing and writing. Also, I am an Audio Producer conducting sound mixing for film and music. Currently, I am gearing up to co direct an amazing psychological thriller alongside other multitalented filmmakers. Other projects I am working on include the formation of a NPO by the name of The Love More Initiative and my gospel record label: All Honor & Glory to God Inc.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three impactful qualities gained from journey involves manners, work ethic, and determination. Over the course of these thirty plus years, I’ve learned that how you treat people is key. I wish to be treated with the upmost respect but am wise enough to know that respect is earned. However, I am careful to not forget times I’ve been mistreated; not to hold grudges but to remember when I am positions of authority to treat others with kindness and respect. My advice is that we all do the same as this determines how far you can grow in life in all aspects (mentally, externally, and spiritually). Moreover, proceed with determination and made up mind as well as diligence.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
One of most significant areas of growth in the past 12 months has been in faith/hope. Recently, I was gifted with a most needed asset. This open my eyes to the reality that some things that are hope for and believed to happen does come true which has been the case with this occurrence. I am learning to believe the impossible and have faith to know that dreams do come true.
