We recently connected with Edgar Zuñiga and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Edgar , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My mother, my mother has been working since she was 12 years old she’s the one I get my work ethic from without her I don’t think I would have the work ethic I have now.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a part time chef/cook freelance photographer and writer. I’ve been in restaurant industry for more than 10 years I absolutely love food and I love cooking Ive been a freelance photographer and writer for about 6 years now everything I know I’ve learn on my own I’m a high school dropout I did not go to school for any of this. For a long time I though that becoming a chef and owning some restaurants is what I wanted with my life but truth be told I began to travel and see the world and realize the restaurant industry is hard and I can’t see myself doing it for the rest of my entire life . I’ve found a new love and that’s photography and movies pursuing a different path even though I still love to cook I’m transition to making movies that’s my real passion writing, taking photos and directing movies I’ve always been intrigued by movies and the way they are made for someone to create a movie in there head is just fascinating to me and deep down I know I have what it takes and I know that I have great ideas and one idea in particular but for years and years I was afraid to even try to write a story I would always tell myself that I can’t write I can’t spell I’m a high school dropout I can’t do it I can’t I can’t is what I keep telling myself and for a long time I believed it and I told myself that I need to find someone to write my story but it was hard to explain to them because they didn’t see my vision the way I was seeing it in my mind so that didn’t work then a few years passed and I continued to build my movie idea in my mind and kept it there for a couple of more years till one day I realized that it didn’t matter if I didn’t know how to spell or if didn’t know how to start a story all I needed was the motivation to just try and I was determined to make it happen. One day I decided to buy a couple of notebooks and I just did it I began writing the story the way I thought it would be and from there on I ever stopped writing I now have 5 movie scripts and I’m about to direct my first short film this summer. I still have so much to learn but I’m a firm believer that all it takes is one good idea for someone to notice one good movie script for someone to notice and be like okay this guy has some great ideas and boom movie deal!!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say knowing exactly what you want visualization manifestation consistency determination knowledge is everything and just getting started is the hardest part most people can’t even start I would say once you actually start then you can just figure it as you go and never be afraid to ask questions.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Definitely always looking to make new connections I’m all about networking in the film industry Directors, writers, producers, photographers etc.
