Meet Edward Wallace

We recently connected with Edward Wallace and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Edward, thank you so much for agreeing to open up about a sensitive and personal topic like being fired or laid-off. Unfortunately, there has been a rise in layoffs recently and so your insight and experience with overcoming being let go is relevant to so many in the community.
Hello everyone I am Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and Fashion Designer Mogul on the Rise, Actor, Model, Business Owner. Being a creative and trying to live % of what I create and make it off my creations and skills is very hard and often times I have to find other employment. I avoid being laid off by staying creative and keeping fresh ideas in my mind for fashion design. I am constantly creating fashion and clothing lines. I have created a Fashion Brand Edward Eliesya, A Lingerie Line called SlEXXY now published in ICONIQUE MAGAZINE, Echelon Streetwear dedicated to the survivors and victims of gun violence. I also have now just opened a new Virtual Call Center Staffing Agency, Lit Life Virtual Solutions where I employ individuals to work from home for Fortune 500 companies doing customer service. This keeps me on my toes because I have the opportunity to offer employment to individuals. Fashion Design and getting new clients also keeps the creative juices flowing. I have Elixur organic skincare that I have created that has CBD oil and gives flawless skin. So I am really kept busy with all the things I have created to keep me from being laid off or unemployed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello. I am Edward Eliesya J Wallace. Celebrity Fashion Designer, Wardrobe Stylist, Published Model / Actor, and Business Owner. I am also The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Winner as well as Fashion Designer Mogul on The Rise. I create one of a kind luxury Streetwear called Echelon Streetwear dedicated to the victims and survivors of Gun Violence. A few years back my younger brother who was a King in the community was brutally murdered. His loss left a huge hole in the hearts of the community and his the 4 mothers of his 5 children. I created Echelon Streetwear for everyone who has experienced this loss to commemorate their lost and wear luxury clothing with a purpose. We are the Echelon. Every other sale made by the brand is given to a family that has suffered this loss in hopes to help in any way we can. I now have Mr. Blade Brown from BMF and Rap Artist YOKO TWAZY as brand ambassadors for the lifestyle brand. This is more than a Brand it is a Movement and a Lifestyle that we will take National. The Echelon Family Foundation hopes to collaborate and connect with all nonprofit organizations that are #againstgunviolence if efforts to grow and make the services we provide greater and to have more impact. I am also available as Fashion Designer. Currently I am Wardrobe Stylist for The TV Series Twinnin with Zane Copeland ( Lil Zane) and ROC Whitlow – Rocwhitent and Executive Assistant for Gospel Hall of Fame Artist Lashann Boaden better know as Mz Lyrik. I am new to Atlanta Georgia from NC and just trying to grow and go where The Good Lord leads me and the mission for Echelon Streetwear.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The 3 qualities I feel most important on my journey were Perseverance because in a world full of NO’s I had to keep trying for that 1 YES! Having being raised well and having a good moral compass always helps. Being a good person, staying Positive in the midst of adversity for me was always something that was a must also. The world is so negative so you have to have that inner joy of who you are and what your mission is in life. Find what a who makes you have and hold on tight. Life is short. Your legacy is the most important.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
God Rest Her Soul. My late mother Cassandra Vamper was my biggest supporter. All through life she put in plays and theatre shows to showcase my talent and encourage me. When zi came out to her she didn’t shun me or treat me unfairly. When I became a fashion designer she did so much for me and was so proud of me. When she became ill and had an anoxic brain injury that left her paralyzed I was on the way to NY to design a Billboard with a Fashion House and I had gotten a call from my brother she had died. I dropped everything and went home. They brought her back but she was in a coma. Due to First Health / Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst NC. My mother was in a coma when she was brought back. They never turned her and her backside deteriorated so bad it was not a bed sore but a sacral wound. I took care of my mother with no help. She was on oxygen from COpD, a feeding tube, a cathoder and lots of medication. I was with her for 25 hrs a day for almost a year unable to leave the house. But I was able to design clothing while she rest. It was my only peace from crying everyday with no help for her from my family or anyone. She was my best critic. My mother was a front page model in NY when she became pregnant with me. She had to stop modeling so I continued the mission. While in her hospital bed she critiqued all my designs. It was the best and most horrible time of my life. She bled daily, the oxygen machines kept breaking, back and forth to the doctors but we stayed positive. She passed Dec 20th at 6pm 2022. I went to the kitchen to check something and she was gone. May she forever rest in peace. Also Dr. Joe L. Dudley, Dr John Edward Gay and Dr LeJaye Britt for speaking life into me and my business.
