Meet Efy Ermias

We were lucky to catch up with Efy Ermias recently and have shared our conversation below.

Efy, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?My self-discipline came from when I started to learn about the art of self-awareness and my healing journey. Back in 2019, I was fed up with the way my life was, and I knew I needed a change. I started learning about my strengths, weaknesses, and triggers. I started becoming aware of my behaviors, values, and what really motivated me in life. I started making informed choices, set meaningful goals, and I began to develop a strategy to stay focused and committed to myself. Ultimately, that led to greater self-discipline and the ability to align my actions with my intentions.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?I am a woman who wears many hats, but I believe my true calling in this life is to empower women and children to discover genuine healing and self-love. My transformative journey began in late 2019 when I realized that I wasn’t content with my life and pretending that everything was fine no longer served me. At first, it seemed like my primary goal was weight loss, as I desperately wanted to shed those extra pounds. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of a profound life transformation.
Over the past three years, I managed to lose over 200 pounds naturally. This journey opened my eyes to the incredible power of the human mind, and I discovered that I had the capabilities to change my life. As I applied this newfound understanding, I began to witness its remarkable results. About eight months into my journey, I realized that it went beyond just shedding weight; I needed to heal the wounds I carried and address the past traumas that had been holding me back.
As I shared my experiences on social media, many women reached out to me, noticing a positive change in me and inquiring about my journey. I would explain that it wasn’t about quick fixes or external solutions but about harnessing the intrinsic power of the mind. I never hesitated to offer guidance and support, and this made me realize that I could have a more significant impact by formally coaching and mentoring women on their transformative journeys.
In December 2022, I earned my life coaching certification, and I’ve since embarked on a journey to help others transform their lives, minds, bodies, and souls. My mission is to empower women to discover their inner strength, embrace healing, and unlock their full potential.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?Looking back, the three most important qualities on this healing journey that helped me were relentlessly educating myself on self-discipline, emotional intelligence, and nutrition.
My favorite thing to say to women is, “do it afraid and just start.” The journey will be messy and hard but so rewarding.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful? There were so many great people I followed that helped me along the journey, but if I had to choose one, I would say the most helpful person for me was Dr. Joe Dispenza. The way he talked about the power of the mind just made sense to me. There were many synchronicities and moments where I would watch an episode of him speaking, listen to a podcast, or read his books and my mind was blown at the revelations I got from his wisdom and studies.
