Meet Eila Algood

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eila Algood. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eila below.

Eila, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

That is such a complex question and I don’t know that I can answer definitively, but I can’t offer up what comes to me when I hear that question
I think I had good self-confidence as a child until some situations with teachers and of course going through adolescence. I believe as a teenager what helped me build self-confidence was the ability to make decisions for my life and follow through on them.. and whether the decision worked out as I thought, or not, was not as important as the experience itself.
I would say the years of being a stay at home mom to my young daughter, reduced some of my self-confidence. There wasn’t a sense of accomplishment that I experienced when I went to school and when I went to work. As a new young parent, I had no idea if I was doing a good job or not..
It was at that time that I became very interested in the paranormal and Psychic world. I began to intuitively feel that the unseen world was something I needed to explore.. I would say through the process of developing my psychic abilities, developing my ability to communicate with spirit that I got to know my own spirit. That was the time where I began to really trust my intuition, although I was still living a life where I was doing a lot of “supposed to’s” and living more by my roles as mother/daughter/wife/sister/in law.
After my second child began elementary school, I started taking a hard look at my life; what I wanted out of it aside from being a mother and a wife and all those other roles.
Following my intuition and making difficult decisions and choices that served my spirit is what really built my self-confidence.
I have spent much of my life as a peacemaker, and a people pleaser, but as I began to know my self and honor my intuition those qualities shifted and continue to change.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am incredibly excited to share about the work/play that I now do.
I strongly listen to my intuition and my spirit guidance for direction in my life. A few years ago, I started to see the possibility of opening a metaphysical store in my town of Hawi, Hawaii.
I was struggling to come up with a clever name for the store and my wife. Holly asked me as I told her my struggle. “ what is the purpose of the store?” my response was it is to help people raise their vibration.. from that came the name for the store of Raise Your Vibration.
We own the building where the store operates from so I had plenty of time to renovate and design the layout. My initial focus was on sound healing instruments, metaphysical books, oracle cards and Crystals. Over the past three years in a shifted to many many crystals, sound healing instruments and a lot of beautiful custom crystal jewelry made by my wife, Holly. I have also developed a number of high vibrational products to sell at the store..
From the day I opened I had a space with a chair under a 6 foot tall copper pyramid for people to sit and meditate. It has always been important to me for folks to come in and have an experience beyond that of a retail store.
Within the past year, we have had an amazing addition to the store, which is our Scalar Room. In this room, we currently have the Energy Enhancement System, which is a technology designed to help the body heal itself. The system is worth tens of thousands of dollars but through many synchronistic moments I connected with a man in town who has generously lent it to our store. His generosity has enabled us to offer it to people to experience without having to pay a fee. Most businesses that have this system charge $40-$60 an hour to sit in the space. We invite people to make a contribution to help offset our operating costs, but no one is turned away because they don’t have the money..
I work at the store three days a week and have someone else, Adrienne, who works four days a week. I have so many meaningful moments with customers that are deep and fun and certainly feel like high vibrational connections.
Some of our regular women who come to sit in the EE System, are going through challenging relationship, emotional, mental issues in their life. They sit in the Scalar Room for 15 minutes to a couple of hours, and it helps them stay centered and balance as they deal with their challenges. That is an absolute blessing and I wish I had such place to go to when I went through tough times.
I have been asked by people to open another store on another part of our island, but I have not wanted to put that kind of pressure on myself. I believe what really works right now for Raise Your Vibration is my presence there three days a week plus my assistant Adrienne is amazing. She loves the store and believes being there is helping her in her own spiritual evolution..
I believe that if divine spirit wants me to expand into another location, all of the pieces will come together effortlessly.
What I would like to do more than opening another store is encourage other people to do what I’m doing. I would like to champion other women to create something that they feel passionate about.
Another gift that I experienced having a store and interacting with people is, I have called upon to share my wisdom. I am 65 years old and I’ve been through some stuff and I feel I have knowledge and wisdom from thriving after some trials and tribulations of my life

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say the three most important qualities I have is knowing my strengths and utilizing them, which for me consist of strong intuition, an extrovert that loves to interact with people in meaningful ways, and honoring my astrological sun and moon sign of Leo, which is a lot about leadership.
My advice to somebody starting on their journey is to first I know what your strengths are, know what your astrology/personality is best suited for and be sure to combine your intuitive and intellectual abilities in decision-making

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I would like to collaborate with a person or people or organization that could help expand Raise Your Vibration. I am very comfortable speaking in public as in a podcast or video podcast and I feel that would be a way for me to get out Stories and wisdom that I’d love to share. I have been considering doing Keynote speaking, but I am not someone who loves to talk to people for an hour.. I would rather have conversations with a group of people. But that is also subject to change.
It is very important to me to do my part in helping raise the vibration of people and this planet, as we are evolving and expanding our consciousness.
I invite anyone who feels a connection to some of what I have shared here to get in touch with me via my website at. www.ryvhawaii.com or through my email [email protected]
