We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eileen Bray. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eileen below.
Hi Eileen, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
It took me my whole life to step through crippling fear of not being able to good enough to step out with my music.
I lived in Nashville at the time and I was married to a musician but I was not the musician! I stayed silent for years until the compulsion was non negotiable to step forward and bring my musical creations to the world . After being introduced to Mantra and Chant through Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in 2016, I started to privately compose and weave the ancient sacred languages together based in the mother tongue of Ireland , Gaelic.
I eventually decided that the fear of dying with this music in my heart and in my belly was greater than the fear of bringing it to the world so I gritted my teeth, took a leap of faith on March 14 th 2021 and presented my first Celtic Kirtan as a FaceBook Live. I’m so grateful to say the journey has continued and just deepened since.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am originally from Ireland with a background in Textile and Clothing Design.. I lived in New York for 17 years where I worked as a clothing designer for a major upmarket Women’s Sportswear company .
I moved to Nashville in 2006. .
In 2012 I got introduced to Kundalini Yoga and was immediately drawn to the Mantra and Chant aspect of the practice.as I always loved to sing and had performed in theatre in school and college .
In 2016 my Kundalini Yoga journey deepened as I was called to complete teacher training in Nashville. I then bought myself a Harmonium and was invited to lead the monthly Aquarian Sadhana’s for a year.. I was absolutely terrified but did it anyway consoling myself with the thought “ how many can be there anyway. at 5 am?;)
.After a year of cutting my teeth and getting familiar with leading Kirtan, I then started to concentrate on my own compositions and weaving the existing mantras in Sanskrit and Gurmukhi with Ireland’s first language Irish or Gaelic.. i just knew instinctively that these ancient languages had the same origin or root. The sounds were undeniably similar. I named my creation Celtic Kirtan and stepped through crippling fear in 2021 to bring it out publicly.
I have since then facilitated countless Celtic Kirtans in the USA and Ireland and I am so grateful for the warm and enthusiastic response it has received. .
I am passionate about creating safe places where people can bring forth their voice and reconnect with their essence .
Music, chant, mantra and voice take us to a place of deep, potent and raw connection. to ourselves and Source. The heart opens and we melt into the oneness with eachother and with Spirit.
Because of this passion for voice and stepping through fear and speaking our truth I now facilitate gatherings where we work clearing blocks in the throat chakra . I have also recently returned to teaching Kundalini Yoga which is a great pleasure .
I continue to collaborate with many beautiful gifted teachers in healing workshops in Ireland the USA.
I am also a voice actor with a passion for spoken word. Professional demos are available to preview on my website. Www.eileenbray.com.
I have a passion for the ancient Irish script Ogham from the 4 th Century and I love to scribe it or carve onto stone .
I also intend to record Celtic Kirtan’s debut album this year.
I’ve lots of varied passions that keep me quite busy. I continue to follow my hearts calling and these God given passions.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Courage
Faith
Resilience
Change is very difficult and the best advice I was ever given was by Mike Dooley himself in my Infinite Possibilities Train the Trainer sessions. It was to keep taking those “incessant baby steps” and to keep showing up even when you feel it’s not important or you lack the ambition or energy.
Do it anyway!
Keep signaling the Universe that you MEAN business and you are willing to keep showing up to prove it!
Don’t ever think that you are not getting there.
You are!
The Universe rewards our bold steps even if they seem little to you.
You are building quantum momentum!
These little steps are huge leaps!
If you keep showing up in the direction of your dreams, one day you will realize you are already there!.
It just snook up on you.
Never give up!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes I love to collaborate! It’s been one of thr greatest joys in my journey so far . I have collaborated with conscious musicians, songwriters, artists, singers, teachers, authors, poets and healers in Ireland and the USA. .
I would be delighted to connect with you and chat about the possibility of collaborating.
