Meet Electra Williams

We recently connected with Electra Williams and have shared our conversation below.

Electra , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
Funny the word resilience means something personal to me. I actually have it as a tattoo. I think I get it from something I can’t really describe, a feeling I have inside that I know I have my back and I can make things happen.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a model! I represent the petite models alongside the ones with tattoos! I love it the feeling of getting behind the camera and transforming into what feels like different kinds of art is truly something else. The runway is amazing the emotion of displaying someone’s designs, while the whole room is looking at you is pretty surreal. I am looking forward to walking in September in New York for the Model Experience Fashion Show.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d say in my journey definitely being kind and reciprocating the love and respect back to everyone. You will be working with people all the time so no one wants to work with someone in any industry who isn’t pleasant to be around. Take you and your job professionally. The people who have helped me in my modeling career so far and supported me play a big part! Then just having the determination to keep going and trying. You just don’t take no for an answer and keep it pushing.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to get out into the industry more. I would like to meet with agencies, designers, work with cosmetics, products and hopefully get the chance to represent their brands. I am a petite model with tattoos so I would love to see more people like me and show we can be versatile and do just as well as everyone else! That we don’t have to be in our own category. This is a new time for modeling and I think the world wants to see more.
