Elena , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I have a firm understanding of the demands of high performance and ethical conduct, I am committed to upholding these standards consistently, regardless of external influences. Failure to do so would weigh heavily on my conscience.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Elena Sanchez, and I am the proud owner and Master Paramedical Tattoo artist at Illusions by Ink, a highly specialized tattoo studio. Our focus at Illusions by Ink is on utilizing custom-blended skin tone pigments to effectively conceal scars, both those from surgeries and accidents, as well as other skin imperfections such as stretch marks.
What sets us apart and inspires our passion is the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives every single day. Not only do we assist individuals in concealing their scars and imperfections, but we also take joy in educating others in the intricate art of Paramedical Tattoos. Being able to contribute to our community through our work is a truly gratifying experience that drives us to better our services constantly. Our dedication lies in enhancing the overall experience for each and every one of our valued customers.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Some of the key qualities that have played a significant role in my success are resilience, a dedicated work ethic, and, perhaps most crucially, the ability to attentively listen to my clients’ needs and desires before skillfully translating them into reality. My unwavering determination in the face of challenges, coupled with a steadfast commitment to hard work, has propelled me forward. However, it is the art of truly understanding and meeting my clients’ expectations that has truly set me apart in my field. By cultivating these qualities within myself, I have been able to not only meet but exceed the standards set by my clients, fostering long-lasting relationships built on trust and satisfaction.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The invaluable lessons instilled in me by my mother have shaped my character in profound ways. Raised by a single mother who courageously battled cancer at the young age of 28, I witnessed firsthand the embodiment of resilience and unyielding determination. Despite facing overwhelming challenges, my mother exemplified an unwavering work ethic, steadfastly showing up each day without fail, regardless of the hardships she endured. Her extraordinary strength, fortitude, and refusal to make excuses in the face of adversity left an indelible mark on me, fueling my own resolve to approach obstacles with a similar unwavering spirit and an unshakeable commitment to never giving up.
