Meet Eliana Feldkamp

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eliana Feldkamp. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eliana below.

Eliana, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I stopped trying to silence imposter syndrome and started listening to what it was teaching me. Usually, it showed up when I was stepping into something new or going to a huge event on my own. Realizing that helped me reframe it though – not as a sign I wasn’t ready or worthy of the opportunity, but as proof that I was growing. I learned to thank it, take in the moment, then move forward and get the job done.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a professional photographer best known for my work in the fashion world. If you’ve followed my New York Fashion Week or Miami Swim Week coverage, you’ve probably caught a glimpse of the creative chaos behind my lens.

I speak very publicly about my health issues and I do this to make sure my community feels seen and heard. I have Lupus and JIA. I chose to chase a career in an industry that isn’t always built for accessibility. To me, that choice represents resilience and possibility. It’s also just such a small part of who I am. It has molded me for sure, but I go far beyond that.

I work across celebrity journalism, sports media, and fashion – photographing runways, producing interviews, and organizing media coverage that brings stories to life. Everything I do centers around storytelling whether it’s capturing the energy of a live game, the artistry of a fashion show, or the personality behind an interview. The dream is still unfolding, but I’m proud of how far it’s come and even more excited for where it’s headed.

Oh, and one of my favorite recent highlights? Getting to interview Emmy-winning filmmaker, Dan Gilroy.

I have many exciting projects in the works and can’t wait to share.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

No matter what I’m shooting or covering – a runway, a celebrity interview, or a sporting event – it’s all about storytelling. Learning to see beyond the surface and capture emotion made my work resonate. The big advice I have with that is to just study different forms of storytelling – photography, film, music, writing, even sports commentary. The more perspectives you understand, the stronger your own voice becomes.
Networking and relationship building is huge, too.
So much of this industry runs on trust. The people I’ve met – designers, athletes, publicists, other creatives have opened doors I never could’ve walked through alone.
Something to take away from the topic of networking is be genuinely curious about people. Ask questions that matter, stay in touch, and always deliver your best work. The relationships you build early on can shape your entire career.
Honestly the third thing I’d say is adaptability. That’s huge. From tight deadlines to last-minute event changes, being flexible has been key. Treat every challenge or change as an opportunity to experiment your ability. Don’t be afraid of things going off-script. That’s usually where your best creative moments happen.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Absolutely, I’m always open to collaboration.
I love connecting with models, musicians, filmmakers, venues, designers, and all kinds of other creatives who share a passion for storytelling. I also collaborate with journalists, brands, and event organizers who are looking to bring fresh visuals or editorial perspectives to their projects.

Whether it’s a runway shoot, an editorial concept, or an interview feature, I’m always excited to build something that feels authentic and visually powerful.

If you’re interested in collaborating, the best way to reach me is through Instagram @ellesfilmstudio or email [email protected]
I’m always happy to talk ideas and see where they can lead. Let’s make magic!
