Meet Elisheva Pierce

We recently connected with Elisheva Pierce and have shared our conversation below.

Elisheva, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I think that my self-confidence comes from learning very early on that no one else is going to validate me, so I must validate myself. My opinion of myself matters the most, so I might as well have amazing opinions of myself. Self-confidence and self-love are vital in how we treat others and how well we relate with others. Also, I’ve decided to face my fears and to not be afraid of the opinions of others.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi, my name is Elisheva Pierce and I am a surrealistic painter and illustrator. I absolutely love being a painter because this is how I express my observations of the world around me. Painting is also a way that I connect with people. The purpose of my art is to help bring beauty to this world and to help other women feel beautiful and confident. As a woman who has gone through some prejudice, I feel it’s my duty as an artist to represent women who have gone through some of the same things. To see my art, and watch my live paintings that I do weekly, please follow me on https://www.facebook.com/elishevapierce, @artsbarbie on Instagram, and you can purchase my prints from www.trapgirlart.com. I will also be posting my live show dates on Facebook, so please follow me on Facebook because that is where I am most interactive.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I realize that I am a natural born free-spirit. Being free-spirited is definitely something that has been very impactful in my journey as an artist. Not allowing myself to be restricted by the norm, challenging myself to think of things from a different perspective, and allowing myself the freedom of expression has been a huge factor. The advice I have for anyone who is new to being an artist for music, visual art, and any other form of creative expression is to be true to yourself, no matter what. Do not compromise who you are for the benefit of others. Being true to yourself will open doors that will bring opportunities for you to be your best self.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
It’s not a book, but it’s a movie about a book called The Neverending Story, which is a magical/fantasy movie. The Neverending Story was my first inspiration that piqued my deep interest in beautiful, magical sceneries, and fantasy which helped improve my ability to execute feminine beauty in my art. Also, the movie Fantasia had a huge impact on me when I was younger. The way that the music and illustrations combine to make a masterpiece work of art was so inspirational and plays a huge role in the direction that I am going with my artistic expression. I have always been captivated by beautiful imagery since I was little.
