Meet Elissa Jackson

We recently connected with Elissa Jackson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Elissa, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Throughout my life, I have been inspired by exceptional role models who have instilled in me the importance of striving for my goals. My grandparents and parents consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and determination. Notably, my grandmother, who immigrated to the United States from Spain, exhibited remarkable resilience as a single parent and hardworking individual. My father also worked multiple jobs during my childhood, ensuring our family’s economic stability. My mother also worked and maintained our home.

I also see how their motivation affected my sisters and I. Both of my sisters are also entrepreneurs. One is a photographer and the other is a stylist in Atlanta, Georgia.

I believe it is essential to recognize the value of hard work and perseverance.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

The name of my business, Elise Floral LLC, holds personal significance as it is named after my daughter. With three years of experience in the floral industry, I have found it to be a highly rewarding profession. Throughout my journey, I have acquired a wealth of knowledge and continue to learn and expand my skills. My goal is to continually improve and refine my craft, as I believe there is ample room for growth. I am grateful for the progress I have made thus far. One area that I am eager to explore further is preservation, as I am fascinated by the numerous aspects of being a florist. The versatility of flowers, whether fresh, faux, or dried, presents endless possibilities.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Perseverance, commitment, and grace are three essential elements that have significantly influenced my journey. I have learned that a successful business necessitates perseverance and commitment, regardless of the industry. I emphasize grace because I am often overly critical of my work. Consequently, I am learning to grant myself grace and refrain from being critical. My advice is to continually strive for excellence in your endeavors and remain committed to your aspirations. Acknowledge that perfection is unattainable, but there is always room for improvement.

How would you describe your ideal client?

In my experience, every person I work with brings unique value, and I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with individuals from all walks of life, consistently resulting in rewarding and productive interactions.
