Meet Elizabeth Davidson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elizabeth Davidson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elizabeth below.

Elizabeth, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic has been shaped over many years of disciplined piano study. From a young age, I learned the value of consistency, focus, and persistence. I practiced regularly, tackled challenging pieces, and gradually built my skills over time. Learning new repertoire, especially difficult or unfamiliar pieces, taught me to embrace challenges, break them down into manageable steps, and persevere even when progress felt slow.

Those early lessons in discipline and persistence carry over into every part of my professional life. Whether it’s developing a student’s lesson plan or managing the growth of my business, I rely on the same focus, patience, and determination that piano taught me. My advice to others is to remember that true skill and success are built through steady, deliberate effort, and that persistence, even when things feel difficult, always pays off in the long run.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m the founder of Amp It Up! Creative Consultants LLC, where I combine my passion for music and education through a piano studio and artist development service. Music has been at the heart of my life from an early age and continues to inspire the work I do every day.

What I love most about my work is helping students and clients grow not only as musicians but as creative thinkers. My approach is holistic and learner-centered. I believe every musician has their own story to tell. I give learners the freedom to explore, take risks, and develop their own artistic voice in a supportive environment.

My academic journey has also played a significant role in shaping how I teach and mentor. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music from Florida Atlantic University and a Master’s in Arts Presenting and Live Entertainment Management from the University of Miami. I’m currently pursuing a Doctorate in Applied Learning Sciences at the University of Miami, where my studies enable me to connect research on learning and motivation with real-world music education.

Through Amp It Up! Creative Consultants LLC, my goal is to continue creating spaces where students and emerging artists feel encouraged to experiment, express themselves, and evolve.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three qualities have made the biggest impact on my journey so far. The first was embracing and refining the skills that come most naturally to me. Growth happens when you embrace your natural strengths. The more you nurture those gifts, the more confidence and clarity you build along the way. Lean into your talent with intention.

The second has been developing strong, professional, and genuine social skills. Whether you’re working with students, collaborators, or clients, how you communicate matters just as much as your craft. Taking the time to practice professionalism, empathy, and active listening has enabled me to build lasting relationships that are founded on trust and respect.

Finally, staying connected within the music community has been crucial. The industry is always evolving. Remain engaged, whether through networking, attending events, or simply supporting others’ work. This keeps your perspective fresh and your opportunities growing.

For anyone just starting out, my advice is to nurture these areas early. Know your strengths, show up with authenticity and kindness, and stay involved in the circles that inspire you. Those habits will carry you further than you imagine.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I start to feel overwhelmed, I turn to prayer first, which helps me to gain perspective. It is a way to bring my worries and gratitude to God, seek guidance, and find peace in His presence. Meditation allows me to sit quietly, reflect, and listen for God’s direction, helping me to calm my mind and center my heart. Together, these practices remind me that I’m not carrying life’s challenges alone, giving me clarity to move forward.

Connecting with nature also helps me maintain balance. Walking outside or exercising reminds me of God’s presence in creation and refreshes my energy. Sometimes, I also enjoy a small indulgence, such as a sweet treat or a coffee break, as a simple way to pause, appreciate the moment, and care for myself.

My advice for others is to build small, intentional practices that nurture your mind, body, and spirit. Feeling overwhelmed is natural, but grounding yourself in prayer, reflection, nature, and simple joys can bring peace, clarity, and renewed strength to face whatever comes next.
