Meet Elizabeth Eichhorn

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elizabeth Eichhorn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My parents worked very hard, both in their “9-5s” and in their life. My dad wanted to improve our home, so he redid the entire thing. I think that we hired people to help build our back porch, but other than that it was all him (and by proxy our family) who did all of the house projects. House projects were a creative outlet for my dad. I always thought it was to save money, and that was probably part of it, but the projects served a deeper purpose for him–creative ownership.

Mary Collier, my fearless mother, showed me the importance of just trying and showing up. She is not a tech guru or a power suite wearing leader, but probably the best example of a service leader that I’ve ever encountered. My mom taught me that it isn’t about being in power, but being able to use your resources to ensure others have opportunities.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a seasoned entrepreneur and business consultant who believes that true leadership comes from showing up—fully and consistently—in both business and community. Over the past decade, I’ve coached more than 1,000 business owners in strategy, growth, and alternative fundraising, helping them think creatively about how to scale. As a crowdfunding specialist, I’ve raised capital for my own ventures and supported others in doing the same, building a reputation for innovative funding solutions that challenge the traditional investment model.

My latest venture, Ampersand Way, is an edtech platform in the making—centered on teaching alternative funding pathways to entrepreneurs, with a strong emphasis on values-driven leadership and access for underrepresented founders. I also own Copper Rose Wine, a wine bar that is all about connection, and recently my husband and I became co-owners of Noblemen Wines, focused on highlighting exceptional wines from Texas.

Outside of work, I’m a certified Master Naturalist and love anything that involves a project—whether that’s renovating a space, planting something new in the garden, or brainstorming community initiatives. My husband and I live in San Antonio, TX, where we keep chickens and are active in our neighborhood association, working to build a more engaged, connected, and creative local community.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Showing up for others.
2. Allowing yourself to dream and give yourself permission to take steps to live out that dream.
3. Don’t be afraid to try. Fear stops us from living into who we were created and meant to be.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed is a feeling that I have often. I push myself to exhaustion, not unlike a lot of folks, but as I grow older, I have learned how harmful being overwhelmed can be do my mental and physical health. I walk, workout, try to eat well (when I can), allow myself to watch stupid television, talk to my husband or my mom, and get myself organized.

The more that I talk about how overwhelmed I am, the less I am actually doing the tasks that I need to do to get out of that situation. There are thousands of things that we claim we “NEED” to do, but it’s impossible to do them all. Focus on what the goal is that you’re trying to get to and make sure that you do the tasks that will get you closer to your goal first. Make sure to ask for help and delegate.
