Meet Elizabeth Fox

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elizabeth Fox. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elizabeth below.

Elizabeth, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Growing up lower middle class my parents worked very hard. They lived pay check to paycheck but they always provided. We had to go without at times but growing up watching them have a strong worth ethic only instilled a work ethic in their 5 children.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I have grown my business over the last 14 yrs. I am currently focusing on high school senior and sport portraits. I want to expand my sports photography into college and the professional level. I am also working on taking more commercial work. I am excited to be more focused on these areas.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

For me, I learn the best with hands on training. I would seek out veterans in the field and take classes and workshops to learn and grow my skills and talent. My advice is find the tool that works best for you because everyone is different and learns differently.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Sometimes my biggest obstacle was not believing in myself and talking myself out of taking the next big step or leap. My goal is to keep pushing myself and not get in my own way. Also to value my art and my contribution to the art world.
