Meet Elizabeth Hill

We were lucky to catch up with Elizabeth Hill recently and have shared our conversation below.

Elizabeth, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I believe that our purpose is something deeper than what we have come to do in the way of work or career. We all have come into this lifetime with certain themes that we are exploring. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was here to do until the sudden death of my identical twin sister, Catherine Mary Hill, in 2002, at the age 37 years old. She was a United States Border Patrol Agent, killed in the line of duty in an on-duty vehicle accident at the U.S./Mexico border in San Diego, CA.

I had always felt that I was on the road less traveled. But I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what that would look like. I went to college at San Diego State University and studied Speech Communication, which involved writing many extensive research papers as well as different forms of public speaking. I graduated with honors, and then worked in Corporate America as a sales person. It was a high-paying occupation but my heart wasn’t in it. It felt empty and devoid of meaning. I moved into the field of law enforcement as my sister had. That was a better match for me, yet it still felt as if it were temporary.

After my sister died, I read the notes she had written and the stacks of books she had read and left behind. She was enthralled with the idea of a grand spiritual awakening that was unfolding all aross the planet. I read these books and many others on the subject of spirituality, metaphysics, and the new paradigm or “new earth” as it has been called. I began to receive messages from my sister in dream states and in meditation as well as from other beings. It became clear that there was a message that I was to share with the world. I wrote a book with my sister’s help called, “Twin Souls: A Message of Hope for the New Millennium,” discussing the things that are no longer working on this planet, and the direction that we are all moving toward.

In 2008 I encountered a trance channel medium who brought through to me a group of non-physical guides who explained that I had made a Soul agreement to let go of all the traditional safety nets that we have been taught we need, such as a job, income, a car, a home, and even money and travel the world following the internal guidance from my Soul or Higher Self. After reading a life changing book, Paramahansa Yogananda’s infamous “Autobiography of a Yogi,” in which he did the very same thing, I embarked upon a 15-year, nomadic journey that has taken me through twenty countries, with my sister along for the ride.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

After the death of my identical twin sister, Catherine in 2002, I began to receive messages from her and other beings, which led me to a 15-year nomadic spiritual journey that has taken me through twenty countries.

I have done this without a job, traditional income, or plan of any kind. I have followed moment-to-moment guidance that I receive from my Soul or Higher Self, along with my sister and guides. Whatever I have needed has flawlessly and synchronistically appeared in every possible form.

This has brought me great courage and wisdom about how what we need and want actually materializes. It has taught me that we each have an internal guidance system that will show us the way even in the most challenging circumstances. It has also taught me that we are infinite beings with endless abundance that really has nothing to do with any one thing in the world such as a job or a business, etc.

I share my journey with anyone who will listen to help them realize just how supported they are and that it is quite true that they can follow their heart and their soul’s promptings with or without money. With the incredible challenges that seem to be increasing on the planet, now is the appropriate time for people to begin to connect inwardly with themselves in quiet to see what guidance and inspriation may be waiting there for them.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. The ability to think for my “Self.” Meaning I do not think or make decisions from my limited personality or ego. I think and act only from the higher parts of my being, which means acting from inspiration and not from fear, desperation, or limitation.

2. Determination and perseverance. I always say that people do not get what they want because they give up too soon. If a challenge or obstacle appears, they assume that something has gone wrong. But actually the challenges are built in to human life. They help us to grow and become stronger.

3. I have the ability to stay calm and grouInded in the midst of a crisis. I am able to act like an oak tree in the midst of a storm. I remain in presence, and listen to my own inner intelligence despite incredible chaos going on around me. This comes from continuous focus on meditation and the Inner Self.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda is one of the most impactful books I have ever read. Yogananda’s journey in this infamous book is partly what inspired me to follow this path. He had unwavering trust in the Infinite Intelligence, whatever name one gives to that higher power. He recounted many stories about yogi’s and others who demonstrated almost super-human feats.

It all comes down to the same knowing. The human part of us is just a tiny little fraction of who and what we are. The larger part of us is guiding our path all along the way. But in this modern world, most have tuned this out and have a very materially focused point of view. This leads to a very shallow interpretation of life and what is important.

Eastern mystics have said for centuries that this world is ultimately a dream or an illusion. The only part of it that is real is what is within us at our core that we call Soul or Spirit. The most valuable nugget of gold is right at the core of us. With this knowledge a person can do things that most would say are impossible.

I could not have taken one step of my journey without this constant inner focus on Being and Presence. People have asked me if I am afraid to do this journey without any set income or knowing exactly where I am going or where I will live. My response is, I would be terrified to do it without my inner guidance and knowing of who I am at my core. But I would be much more afraid to live in the ordinarly material world wihout those the Universal truths that I have come to realize.
