Meet Elizabeth Hunt

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elizabeth Hunt a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
The resilience of our company came through the way we confronted the issues since the inception of our company. Analyzing a problem without it consuming you takes a lot, but it is a necessary lesson
required to thrive in the market’s ever-changing landscape. Being a first-time business owner involves
much resilience because the unknown variables that we experienced in the expansion of our company
came cascading through every day. From brand recognition, forming an online presence, and engaging
in local community events to support our community, this is what resilience looks like – reaching out
and continuing to shine regardless of the situation.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
OptoOrg is the go-to place for the DailyLens Contact Lens Dispenser, a new way to organize daily contact lenses. The DailyLens features three compartments, one for storage, and two for dispensing (one for each eye) for a minimalistic, innocuous addition to your bathroom. Prefer to jazz it up? Magnetic photo frames and stick-on whiteboards from Thinkboard are available to customize the dispensers and take them from sleek and modern to interactive and fun. This new solution to contact lens storage offers a new way for daily contact lens users to turn their chaotic countertop into a zen landscape. Keep your bathroom clean and your contact lenses safe while keeping them readily available and accessible. These patent-pending dispensers were designed and launched by a 26 year-old young woman who’s been wearing contacts since she was 11. Driven by her own frustrations with storing her daily lenses, and acknowledging that even she wouldn’t use it if it wasn’t incredibly easy, she designed the unit to be: • Easy to Hang – two tracks on the back allow easy mounting via thumbtack or sticky strip
• Easy to Load – transfer lenses directly from manufacturer box to the dispenser
• Easy to Tear – Grab and lens and it tears one right off
OptoOrg will keep expanding until all feasible contact lens accessories have been invented and delivered to those who need them.
OptoOrg donates 5% of all profits to the following organizations: OneSight and Giving Sight, non-profit organizations dedicated to increasing vision care accessibility, and SightSavers America, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring children get the eye care they need.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One significant advantage that has recently been given more attention is the data analytics realm. As a professional data analyst, this allows me to draw insight from various areas to create practical solutions
to the many logistical issues that may arise. Proactiveness is a critical trait that I have had from early on
in my life and is essential to responding to the day-to-day tasks that my company requires of me.
Problem-solving was at the core of the foundation of my company; since there was no product to meet
my issue regarding daily contact lenses, I endeavored to become the founder of my company Optoorg
bringing this solution not just to myself but to the millions and growing number of daily contact lens
users.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Without a doubt, the VP of our company Joel Garcia has brought an invigorating aspect into the company, tackling many issues in a stoic fashion combined with unrelenting dedication to meet our
goals. A data scientist, analyst, and engineer, he brings in multiple creative solutions to the many issues
that arise and factors in KPIs to continue to expand the company at an impressive pace. He has been
critical to the early stages and the recent success of our company's expanding operations.
