Meet Elizabeth Lawson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elizabeth Lawson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Elizabeth , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I used to be a teacher, and I absolutely loved it. Working with students and making a positive impact in their lives was incredibly fulfilling. But as time went on, I started feeling this urge for something more, a desire to explore different avenues and discover new passions.

It all started when my husband and I decided to buy our first home. That’s when we met April Harrington and Erin Jones, our real estate agents. Let me tell you, they were absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond to guide us through the entire process, and their expertise and care made a lasting impression on me.

As we went through the home-buying journey, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the world of real estate. The way April and Erin navigated the complexities of the market while building genuine connections with their clients was truly inspiring. It was like a lightbulb moment for me – I realized that real estate was the perfect blend of my interest in property and my passion for helping others.

So, after some deep reflection, I made the decision to pursue my real estate license. Let me tell you, it wasn’t an easy choice. It required courage and a leap of faith, but I had the unwavering support of my husband and the encouragement of April, who is now my broker, and Erin. With their backing, I knew I could take on this exciting new challenge.

Transitioning from teaching to real estate was a transformative experience. I was able to tap into my natural strengths of empathy, problem-solving, and communication, while also indulging my love for learning and personal growth. Every single day, I have the privilege of assisting individuals and families in finding their dream homes, navigating the twists and turns of the market, and making informed decisions that truly impact their lives.

For me, real estate goes beyond just transactions and property deals. It’s about building relationships, earning trust, and being a reliable resource for my clients. It’s about being there for them during significant milestones and making a real, positive difference in their lives.

Discovering my purpose in real estate has been an ongoing journey, influenced by my past experiences as a teacher and my unyielding curiosity for the world of property. It has given me a sense of fulfillment and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the lives of others.

Looking back, I’ve come to realize that finding your purpose isn’t a one-time thing; it’s a continuous evolution. It’s about embracing the unexpected, being open to new possibilities, and following the calling that resonates deep within you. Real estate has become the avenue for my growth, impact, and personal satisfaction. I wake up every day grateful for the opportunity to live out my purpose in this dynamic and rewarding industry.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My journey into real estate was born out of my deep passion for helping people during life-altering moments. Since 2019, I’ve been working in the real estate industry, and it has been a rewarding experience. I take great pride in serving on the Community Involvement Committee of the Eastern Middle Tennessee Realtor Association and being involved with three local non-profit organizations. Living in Nashville with my husband and two dogs since 2014, I have grown to adore the city’s vibrant culture. In my free time, you’ll often find me enjoying precious moments with my family, exploring new travel destinations, and immersing myself in live music events, especially when my talented husband is performing.

Working with numerous referrals throughout the year has been incredibly fulfilling for me. I genuinely love helping individuals and families fall in love with Middle Tennessee and everything it has to offer. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Passion for Helping People: I am driven by a genuine passion for helping people during life-altering times. This deep desire to make a positive impact on my clients’ lives is what led me to pursue a career in real estate. Ensuring that you feel supported and taken care of throughout your home buying or selling journey is my top priority. 2. Community Engagement: I actively engage with the community that I serve. It brings me great joy to serve on the board for three local non-profit organizations. Through these involvements, I aim to make a positive difference and give back to the community that I love.
3. Love for Nashville Culture: I have been living in Nashville with my husband and two dogs since 2014, and I absolutely adore the vibrant culture of this city. The energy, music, and unique charm of Nashville are what make it such a special place. Sharing my enthusiasm for the local lifestyle allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level and help them discover the best aspects of Middle Tennessee.
Emphasizing these three qualities – my passion for helping people, community engagement, and love for Nashville culture – allows me to provide exceptional service, make a meaningful impact, and understand your specific needs and desires. Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
I see my ideal clients as First-time homebuyers and people relocating to Tennessee..

I absolutley love working with first-time homebuyers. Taking them from unsure and and anxious to confident and closing on their first home is such an honor and ties back into my education background which I love.

I also work with a lot of people who are looking to move to Middle Tennessee. These clients are likely moving from other areas and may have specific needs and preferences regarding the location, amenities, and community they are looking for in their new home. Helping them fall in love with our amazing area and seeing them thrive makes me so happy.
