Meet Elizabeth Pipko

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elizabeth Pipko. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elizabeth below.

Elizabeth , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Mark Twain once said, “the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” That quote resonates with me so much because I think I was incredibly privileged to feel at a very young age that I was meant for something. I’m not sure I know now, even eighteen years later, what that something is, but I know that God gave me an inner voice, a few incredibly strong passions, quite a few deep convictions, and the courage to stick to all of those. That is something that I hope resonates with people and is on display in all of my work. I also can only hope that it also inspires young people to feel the courage to stick to their passions, values, and convictions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Again, I’m incredibly lucky in the sense that I get to do a lot of different things and be a part of a lot of incredible industries. Whether it is fashion, advocacy, media, politics, or anything else that I am doing, I believe that my “brand” remains clear and consistent. I’m simply someone who believes in working your butt off, advocating for what you believe in, and being kind to everyone you meet. It’s that simple; and I can only hope that people see that when they interact with me or see any of my work.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d say the three qualities which I’m most proud of and which I believe have played the biggest role in any successes I have had would be my ambition, discipline, and faith. I have always been incredibly ambitious, always competing with prior versions of myself and trying to make myself better. That ambition has also been inspired by haters and naysayers who doubted me and any of my goals and dreams. My mom taught me at a very young age that without discipline, you will get nowhere because no matter how talented or lucky you are, there is always someone out there putting in more work than you, something we should all remember. And when I say “faith” that applies to a lot of things – faith in myself, faith in my work and planning, and faith in G-d to know that there is always a bigger reason for doing anything I am doing and for every door that closes and every door that opens.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I think the best thing to do when feeling overwhelmed would be to have a playlist that you can listen to that makes you calm and happy and which can almost trick your brain into feeling better. I also like to remind myself that this is not the first time I got stressed or overwhelmed, nor is it the last, so I might as well not let it impact me as much as it could, because this too shall pass, and I will regret it if I let it ruin my week.
