Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elizabeth Stainberg. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Elizabeth , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
The work ethic for my artworks come from the values that my family has taught me.
Since I was a girl I have painted with love and respect next to my parents. My father would always sketch in his sketchbook and my mother to this day is a great artisan.
I design my works thinking about not disrespecting anyone and complying with the rules of society.
My goal is for the people who see my art to connect with it and feel peace within. Lately, my artwork consists of sunsets and many scenes captured from nature.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am feeling most excited to be part of MIFA residency program.
I have a studio at MIFA (Miami International Fine Arts) where I can sit and create quietly during the day and enjoy my creative process.
Being together collectively creating in a group of such talented people is one of my dreams come true.
I love to paint in different ways with different mediums, trying to learn something new every day.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Listen, learn, practice.
I think one of my most important qualities is wanting to learn as many things as possible from my experienced colleagues.
One of them has told me that the most important thing about art is to enjoy it while you are doing it. That advice helped me relax my creative process and that way to have new ideas constantly.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Since I started exhibiting my artworks, I have encountered new challenges and many new things to me, such as having an organized website or resume, my biography, and the statement of the works. The person who helped me to be more successful on this path was Marco Caridad, he helped me with my professional development.
