We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elizabeth Toller a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.
Creativity, for me, is a cultivated habit requiring skill. I practice my craft daily, whether inspired or not, honing my skills in photography, composition, and post-production. Mastery of these technical aspects reduces the need for conscious effort, revealing the endless possibilities of art.
Inspired by Twyla Tharp, my favorite choreographer, I understand the necessity of preparation for creativity. Mastering our craft allows us to innovate freely.
I’ve elevated my daily routines to rituals, triggered by life’s cues (such as my cat’s timely wake-up call). Once initiated, rituals unfold seamlessly, devoid of doubt, fear, or procrastination. This mental clarity fosters creative daydreaming, offering insights inaccessible to others, transcending both life and art beyond imagination.
To me, creativity is akin to a calling—a higher power and a unifying force. It’s the essence of human existence, guiding us through life’s complexities. It serves as my sixth sense, enabling me to perceive beyond the mundane, uncovering hidden truths.
Through my art, I share my world with others. Creative blocks signify the intrusion of doubt, a natural safeguard. Confronting doubt becomes essential to rediscovering creative flow, and delving deeper into self-awareness.
In essence, creativity is my life force, navigating me through uncertainty toward profound self-expression and connection with others.
My desire for creativity is greater than my doubt, thus I embrace each block as an opportunity for introspection and growth. Confronting doubt allows me to reaffirm my commitment to creativity as a guiding force in my life. By transcending these obstacles, I continue to evolve both as an artist and as a person, striving to manifest visions that resonate deeply with myself and others. Ultimately, creativity remains my steadfast companion, illuminating paths where others see only darkness, and enriching my existence with boundless possibilities.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am on a journey to learn about creativity and how to incorporate it into my everyday life. I learned to include my abilities as a physic, medium, intuitive tarot reader, and Reiki healer into my life so I can see the path forward to a creative life.
I have developed a program called The Power of the Personal Project. Life is now a creative strategy to elevate art and life.
As an intuitive coach, I help others create their strategy for life and art. Drawing on my abilities as a psychic, medium, intuitive tarot reader, and Reiki healer, I guide you in identifying and overcoming your creative blocks. By harnessing these intuitive tools, I assist you in gaining clarity, finding your unique path, and unlocking your fullest creative potential.
As a speaker, I can enlighten your group about the transformative power of preparation for creativity and how cultivating this discipline can elevate not only their artistic endeavors but also enrich their overall life experience. By delving into effective strategies and mindset shifts, I empower individuals to harness their creative potential fully and achieve greater fulfillment in both their personal and artistic pursuits.
As a photographer, I create images that invite others to see the boundless possibilities in life. Through my lens, I strive to capture moments that inspire curiosity, evoke emotion, and challenge perspectives. Each photograph is a testament to the beauty and complexity of existence, encouraging viewers to explore new horizons and appreciate the richness of the world around them.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The most important question to ask yourself, no matter how unconventional the answer may seem, is ‘What is it you truly want to do with your life?’
From that point forward, every decision you make should align with that purpose.
Next, preparation is key to achieving your aspirations in life. Learning and perfecting the necessary skills are essential steps toward realizing your goals. As a photographer, I continuously enroll in classes to refine my craft and apply these skills consistently. I’ve established a ritual around my art so that it becomes a seamless part of my daily life. This dedication ensures that I am constantly evolving and honing my abilities, thereby pushing the boundaries of my creativity and achieving greater heights in my photographic journey.
Lastly, tune out the noise of those who seek to deter you from your life’s purpose. Surround yourself with supportive voices and cultivate a mindset that shields you from negativity. Stay focused on your goals, trusting in your vision and abilities. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and remain steadfast in pursuing what truly matters to you. By staying true to your path and ignoring distractions, you empower yourself to achieve extraordinary things aligned with your life’s purpose.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am seeking individuals and groups who share my passion for artistic expression and a commitment to continuous learning. Together, we can explore innovative approaches to life and art, embracing new challenges and pushing creative boundaries to uncover fresh ideas and perspectives. Whether you are interested in one-on-one collaborations or inviting me to speak to your group, I am eager to connect with like-minded individuals who are also on a journey of discovery and purposeful creativity. Let’s inspire each other and make meaningful contributions to the world through our shared dedication to artistic exploration and personal growth.
