Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ella Gaona. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ella, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
My grandmother, Cesaria Gaona, also known as Mama, was incredibly generous, much like I strive to be. She epitomized selflessness, always giving without hesitation. When my parents struggled with addiction, she provided unwavering support and love, stepping in as my parent for a good part of my childhood. Her teachings have stayed with me – always to show gratitude for what I have and to help those in need. I try my best to uphold these values in everything I do.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Ella Gaona, and I am the founder of Take It From Here Events.
I established this business in 2021 after gaining experience as a wedding planner, stylist, and day-of coordinator for a friend. This experience inspired me to pursue event planning as a profession, and I am grateful for the opportunity.
My passion for party planning began when I was pregnant with my daughter, Audrey. As I organized my baby shower, I discovered how much I enjoyed the creative process. Since then, I have organized events for friends and family, including birthdays, micro weddings, engagement parties, bachelorette parties, and intimate gatherings.
I work tirelessly to bring my clients’ visions to life while adding my personal touch to each event. I take pleasure in getting to know my clients personally and professionally and am dedicated to making their special days unforgettable.
My boyfriend, Christian, also assists me with the business. He is known as Mr. Build It From Here and crafts most of my inventory. His expertise has led him to establish his own company, where he creates inventory for others in and outside of this industry.
Together, we are committed to expanding our business in this industry, and we are excited to have you all join us on this journey.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Here’s the rewritten text:
With my background in hospitality, sales, and management, I have developed a keen eye for detail which I bring to every event. I use client-provided photos as a base for my styling, but I always add my own unique touch to differentiate it from what other stylists have done before.
For those who are just starting out, my advice is to never give up. It’s common to feel doubt, especially when you perceive your industry as saturated. However, it’s important to remember that everyone has their own unique approach. You will attract the clientele that resonates with your style and vibe.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In the past year, I’ve really grown by learning to set boundaries for myself in this industry. Burnout is a big issue in this line of work, and while it’s important to make our clients happy, we also need to take care of ourselves. Many people don’t realize how much effort it takes to bring their ideas to life.
I’m passionate about what I do and I love seeing everything come together. Luckily, I’ve found clients who appreciate my work, treat me well, and understand that I’m only human.
