Meet Elle Pirmoradi

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Elle Pirmoradi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Elle, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

From my experience, it comes down to your gut. Only you know your vision and until it’s realized, it’s understandingly difficult for other people to see it. I never doubted the product I was creating, that was a big plus. There were other hurdles like logistics and labor, but making my version of a perfect piece of jewelry always pushed me the right way. Getting Bangelle off the ground was a bit like a puzzle, in that I had the right parts and needed to figure out how to piece them together.
I started a high-end jewelry line, dealing with other people’s anticipation is a luxurious problem to have – there are bigger problems in the world. It’s good to keep that in perspective. Every now and then the price point raises eyebrows; to which I proudly say that all pieces are in 18K yellow, rose and white gold, meticulously made by hand in Los Angeles. Luckily my clientele value this and see Bangelle as wearable luxury and a smart investment for the future. Being in a creative locale with lots of supporting voices, I am fortunate to say haters really haven’t been part of my journey.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Bangelle specializes in 18K handcrafted bangles & bracelets. Just like a nice watch makes you feel more put together immediately, we wanted to create a similar feeling with the bangles. Bold and solid gold pieces for an effortless and luxurious look. The first collection started off with solid gold only. The main driving force was creating unisex, ageless, universally beautiful and sturdy pieces. A brand created exclusively for heavy-handed, gold loving, bracelet-obsessed jewelry aficionados, who can’t do without their favorite stacks.
All designs are handmade by our tight-knit network of local master jewelers in Los Angeles. They are wearable pieces, day or night, dressed up or down. The uncompromising design is as beautiful as it is strong. While stunning on their own, I like to layer the bangles with other beloved pieces as the perfect addition. There is something uniquely satisfying about a bundle of bangles gently rattling. My ideal stack includes Cartier’s Juste un Clou, Hermes’ Kelly and Collier de Chien, a fun tennis bracelet for some sparkle and Bangelle’s Dainty and Uni. I had this vision long before I laid eyes on the first Bangelle prototypes. Being an L.A.-based brand, it’s all about bringing together the mundane and luxury.
I look at the early pieces as the foundation of the brand. Based on that, we have added other designs, play- and colorful pieces, including diamonds and colored gemstones. I’m excited to announce that we recently also launched rings and earrings and soon we’ll be adding necklaces as well. The newer pieces have their own ‘personalities’, but there’s definitively a recurring theme; similar to musical variations, there’s an aesthetic resemblance that keeps peeping through the different models.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back sounds a bit as if I have reached my destination. I’m just gearing up and am looking forward to what the future holds for Bangelle. Having said that, there are 3 P’s that I find helpful. Sometimes the windmills of your mind get stuck, then I remember: Passion, Persistence and Patience, in that order. You have to be passionate about what you do, you have to be on board 100%, otherwise you’ll never get anyone else excited about what you’re building.
Persistence is another great advisor, one must never give up. Being a jewelry entrepreneur, I’ve noticed it’s a small world. PR work and connecting with local stylists became a big part of our beginning. Building relationships needs attention and time. For my niche, this is invaluable. Which brings us to patience. If you have something special to offer and you knock on enough doors, one of them will open.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

Professionally speaking it has been the evolution of being an armcancy-focused brand to a line that now proudly also makes rings, earrings and necklaces. When I first envisioned the line 3 years ago, my entire creative orbit was bangles, cuffs and bracelets. I was hooked on the idea of making perfect additions to well-stacked wrists. I often heard words of encouragement to expand the line to include other pieces as well. For a host of reasons I stuck to bangles and bracelets exclusively for a while – until I happily launched the new pieces this fall! Just like the bangles, they are stackable and wearable dressed up or down. There is definitely a recurring aesthetic that plays with symmetry and angularity across all Bangelle pieces.
