We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Elsa Wörmann. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Elsa below.
Elsa, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I believe it is beneficial to have moments of self-doubt, as they have lead to self-reflection and growth for me. But My self-esteem is on fire when I’m busy, creating meaningful work, engaging in independent thinking, and when I’m being a supportive friend!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
So I’m a filmmaker and actress, and right now I’m collaborating with talented creators on a play tailored for young audiences in Stockholm, happening at a fantastic venue called Ö2. It’s a brilliant and fun script about our sexual history and the norms that have shaped it.
Aside from that, I’m still working on my first short film, which we shot during my time at UCLA in 2023. Right now, I’m focused on getting it into festivals and seeking distribution.
I guess what I love most about what I do is the opportunity to tell stories that truly resonate with people, whether I’m in front of the camera or behind it.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I honestly don’t think I have any special knowledge that has lead me to where I am today. But three things that has been important to me has been
Embrace mistakes! Making mistakes is inevitable, but it’s how we learn and grow from them that matters. Embracing failure as a part of the learning process has allowed me to persevere through challenges and continue moving forward in my journey.
Take calculated risks – don’t let your fears be the enemy, have courage to try! It goes along a lot with the one above but anyway…
and also
Never stop learning! Be curious about new things, trends or whatever it is. Just be curious
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
