Meet Ema Vyhlidal

We recently connected with Ema Vyhlidal and have shared our conversation below.

Ema , thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.

To avoid burnout, I made a conscious effort to set strict boundaries in my schedule. I ensured that I clearly defined work and personal time, making it easier to disconnect and recharge. Additionally, I incorporated regular breaks throughout the year to prevent overwhelming stress. These breaks helped me maintain a healthier work-life balance and refreshed my focus when I returned. By consistently respecting these boundaries, I was able to sustain my energy and prevent burnout from taking hold.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

At Ema V Beauty, I specialize in nail care with a strong focus on the health and well-being of natural nails. My approach is all about making sure my clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and well-cared for, without the rush or pain that often comes with fast-paced salons. What excites me most is creating a personal experience where each client feels valued as an individual, not just another number. I’m passionate about offering high-quality, customized care that ensures long-term nail health. In the future, I plan to expand my services, providing even more options to help my clients feel their best, inside and out!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I believe the three most impactful qualities on my journey have been excellent customer service, a strong work ethic, and confidence in my skills and business. Customer service is often overlooked in the beauty industry, but I’ve learned that it’s possible to provide great care while still maintaining boundaries with clients. Being hardworking is essential, especially in a small business where there’s so much more than meets the eye, it’s not just about the services you offer, but also the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into keeping everything running smoothly. Finally, having confidence in both my work and my business has been crucial in navigating challenges and staying motivated. For those early in their journey, my advice would be to focus on building strong relationships with clients, stay disciplined in your efforts, and always believe in your potential to grow.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back to gain perspective on the situation. I reassess my tasks, focusing on what needs immediate attention and what can be postponed. By breaking things down into manageable steps, I avoid feeling paralyzed by the workload. I also remind myself that not everything has to be perfect or done at once. This approach helps me stay grounded and makes the tasks feel more achievable.
