Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ember Sherman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ember , appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I take a lot of classes and continuing education to keep my creativity alive. I try to do projects just for myself, at least once a month. I love learning new things and skills, so it’s always an adventure to find something new and try it out. I’ve also volunteered in the past at my church on our creative team and that also helped keep my mind sharp.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I specialize in creating meaningful, high-touch moments through live event artistry, think elegant calligraphy, on-site engraving, and hand-painted personalization. Whether I’m heat-foiling names on luggage tags, engraving fragrance bottles, or painting bags and glasses, I help brands connect with guests in a way that feels thoughtful, elevated, and unforgettable. Every detail is custom, every stroke is live, and every guest walks away with something made just for them.
I also do in-studio commissions of the same.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I never quit practicing. I practiced my craft everyday for years.
I also never quit experimenting. I love trying new things and I’m not afraid to fail or mess up and try plan B, C or whatever!
I also couldn’t do it without the support of friends and family. And I also have business coaches, that was the final piece of the puzzle I needed!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with event planners, experimental marketers, store managers…really anyone who is looking to make a big impact with clients and VIPs to provide them a unique, personalized gift.
