We recently connected with Emilio Warwar and have shared our conversation below.
Emilio, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose through exploring and my passion. I always appreciated traveling but wanted more from these experiences and decided to get into photography. Through this step in my life, I decided to explore Art, and Production. In doing so, I began printing my work on the photography side, together with investments in production equipment for a rental company startup. While getting hired for events, I found a strange liking or comfort to the chaos that ensues in putting these events together and creating a good team. Planning events, Bringing it to life, Delegating different teams, getting ahead of situations that emerge, along with making sure everyone and everything is on point. I have done this all in hopes to pass opportunities down to others, help them grow and give enough confidence to bring their dreams to life. You can definitely say exploring is how I found my purpose, and how I keep refining it.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Im an entrepreneur, with dreams of becoming a philanthropist at some point. I own and operate a few businesses which all pretty much go hand in hand. It all began with my love for taking photos and traveling, which led me into the path of a real photography career. In order to follow this journey, I had to save everything I could so that I could buy professional equipment with discounts by working at Best Buy (where I learned skills and sales tactics) and I was also working for my fathers moving company (where I refined my leadership skills through teamwork under tough situations). Two jobs, and 3 years later, I left Best Buy for a position at a law firm, while now, co-running my fathers moving company. As I gained clients as a photographer, I was able to leave the law firm after 2 years and to run my fathers company while in my 2nd year of my starting up. Forward 2 years, I took my startup to the next level and rebranded to Warwar Studios to accommodate the different branches created by taking on jobs like: Fine Art, filming, editing, graphic design, and more. Being hired for many events, clients would ask if I could recommend rental companies. It was at this point where the light bulb came on and the idea of a production company came to mind. I made a few investments in special effects, speakers, lighting, tables, chairs, tents, and more. DJs were the first to begin renting some of the equipment which allowed me to further invest in the company I was creating. A year in, and a shed full of equipment I finally decided to create the company as Magic City Event Rentals, which was fitting since I’m based in Miami. During 2022, the company’s reach made it to central Florida when a client who runs sanctioned fight events decided to partner up. At this point we invested in a van to be able to take gear around easier, be able to provide more for clients, and use as an RV. Then by 2024, our company’s growth was established to the point of being asked to assist with fashion shows, new fight events, and working with many musicians and designers; we now began working Events in San Diego, NY, Las Vegas, Miami, Mexico, & Colombia, which steered us into buying a second van and modified it to be a full production van with the finest gear available for all our clients and rebranding the company to POWER HOUSE RENTALS & PRODUCTIONS.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I had to pick three qualities, or skills, I would say you definitely have to have an insane amount of perseverance. It’s what will get you through all the trials and tribulations. You need enough of it for the people who you think may or may not be standing in your way, including yourself; You’ll need it to get through the trial and error phase of learning and gaining experience and not quitting when it gets tough. Perserverance is a part of the key to unlocking your full potential and bringing your dreams to life. Another Quality or Skill would be Confidence. You NEED to believe in yourself, your dreams and your purpose above everyone else’s. Only you can bring what is in your mind to life, and those that don’t believe in themselves fail to bring those dreams to life which reminds me of Les Browns quote: “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.” Having confidence also attracts others towards you. People buy into you, you are the product, have confidence that the dream is in you for a reason. The last skill I think you need is discipline. You need it in order to succeed. Discipline will build your character and keep you on point. Being disciplined will keep you consistent and make you a better leader for those you give a helping hand to, or look up to you.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I think Yes, go with what you are strong with and go all the way! I believe it to be something I did and has lead me to where I am today. You will become well rounded as opportunities arise and your team grows. With a Team all working on their strengths, it fills any gaps or weak parts of the chain, because everyone has different strengths and skills! Being with my team we pick up things from each other and improve ourselves where we need it just by things that stick from those who we surround ourselves with.
