Emily , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

At the age of 16, I started working in the bridal industry that would eventually shape my future. Starting out in a store that I now proudly own and assisting a wedding planner and decorator ignited a passion within me. Witnessing the profound impact of being a part of such a significant moment in someone’s life filled me with so much joy.

The emotional connections I formed with each bride, sharing in their tears of happiness, reinforced my dream of owning a bridal store one day. The opportunity to acquire the store I had poured my heart into arose when I was just 19. Together with my mom we decided to purchase the business.

Over the past decade, the journey of owning and running this business has been nothing short of magical. Guiding women to find their perfect dress, witnessing their transformation into a beautiful bride, has been a truly remarkable experience. The thrill of being a part of such a special moment in their lives is something I cherish deeply, and it fuels my passion every day.

Owning Emily Rae’s has been a lifelong dream of mine, one that fills my heart with boundless joy and excitement. Each day as I step into work, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and passion. The journey of being a mother while also running a business has presented its fair share of challenges, but it’s a journey I wouldn’t trade for anything. I cherish the opportunity to teach my children the importance of pursuing one’s passions and making a meaningful impact in the world.

Every bride or customer who walks through our doors brings with them a unique story, and I am honored to play a small yet significant role in their journey. Being part of their monumental moments and cherished memories fills me with purpose and enthusiasm. I am deeply committed to helping them create not just beautiful experiences, but lasting memories that they will treasure forever. This is more than just a business; it’s a celebration of love, dreams, and the incredible stories that unite us all.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on my journey, the three most impactful qualities have been passion, a love of people, and a strong foundation in sales.

Passion: My deep passion for what I do has been a driving force, fueling my motivation and commitment. This enthusiasm not only keeps me engaged but also inspires those around me. For those starting out, I advise finding what truly excites you and pursuing it wholeheartedly. Surround yourself with inspiration, whether it’s through books, workshops, or conversations with like-minded individuals. Your passion will shine through and attract others to your vision.

Love of People: Building genuine connections with others has been crucial in both business and personal interactions. My love for people allows me to understand their needs and create meaningful experiences. For early starters, invest time in networking and building relationships within your community. Practice active listening and show genuine interest in others’ stories. Volunteering or participating in community events can also help you connect with a diverse range of individuals.

Sales Skills: A solid understanding of sales has been essential in turning passion into a sustainable business. It empowers me to communicate effectively, understand customer needs, and close deals. For those new to sales, consider taking courses or workshops to strengthen your skills. Practice makes perfect—engage with friends or mentors in role-playing scenarios to refine your pitch. Learn the art of storytelling, as it can make your sales approach more relatable and impactful.

For anyone at the beginning of their journey, focus on developing these qualities through continuous learning and practice. Seek feedback from mentors or peers, embrace every opportunity to connect with others, and foster a growth mindset. Your passion, people skills, and sales expertise will not only enhance your business but also enrich your life.

The most profound impact my parents have had on my life is their unwavering support of my dreams, no matter how wild or fleeting. Whether it was a childhood fantasy of becoming an princess or a spontaneous decision to rescue an animal on the side of the road, they were always there, cheering me on and encouraging me to chase my heart. Their belief in me was a constant source of inspiration, fueling my courage and determination to pursue my passions. I am eternally grateful for their love and support, which has shaped me into the person I am today.
